Philippines was set to be a cruise destination

Did you know that Star cruises, a Malaysian operated cruise, which is listed in Singapore, was supposed to make Subic Bay Philippines, as one of it's docking spots for tourists?

According to one of the people I spoke to in a recent cruise trip, she said that the proposal had been sent but the Philippine Government was asking for an outrageous amount of deals before it will be approved as a "stop" for cruise tourists.

For me, it was a big opportunity lost for the Tourism industry in the Philippines. I do not exactly know in which term (Presidential Term) this happend but, regardless, it was a waste.

Just put your talents to good use!

***This is, if she really did the killing...

MMDA Versus Buses

http://wolfstone.halloweenhost.com/HalloweenTech/grsdet_SprayPaintNozzle.jpg
The MMDA impounded at least 140 colorum buses last Monday as it prepared to launch a fully automated system of dispatching buses in Metro Manila. The MMDA leadership was criticized after its men spray-painted the impounded vehicles with the words "colorum" and "out-of-line."

On the other hand, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board said the spray-painting of colorum vehicles is not among the penalties prescribed to colorum vehicles.

The Metro Manila Development Authority on Wednesday said it is transferring a total of 90 impounded "colorum" buses from its impounding area in White Plains Subdivision in Quezon City to an impounding area in Las Piñas.

I agree with MMDA. What better way can the MMDA do to let those "Colorum" buses know the real message of their campaign. This is what Philippines lack. A man who can go over tons of people just to implement the real law.

To LTFRB, ok, we might agree that the spray painting of buses is kind of "not in the law". But, can you guys over at LTFRB suggest of a better way to implement it?

I guess not. You guys are the one giving franchises and you cannot even control them.

Too bad.

Manila, Philippines - Yehey.com and Yahoo.com, two of the top 5 search engines in the Philippines, announced that they would have an unannounced emergency merge today, April 1. Yahoo is targeting to partner with the the top search engines for each country, like Baidu in China for its new strategy to bring yahoo to the top again.

The two CEO's, Yehey's Donald Lim and Yahoo's Jerry Yang said at a joint press conference in Discovery Suites yesterday that a call for simpler licensing fees and technology standards for hardware and software with superior customer service made the merger a must.
