I've tried numerous intro dives before but still haven't got the courage to undergo training for acquiring an open water license. It might be because I don't know how to swim. I'm not afraid of the water as I can dive but my main problem is floating. I can't float without a life vest.

As soon as we finished our breakfast, we headed down to the train station just a couple of blocks away. While we were on our way to the train station, we noticed that people in Cairns were more laid back - it was more of a country-side living compared to the other cities we've been.

Dark, rainy night in Cairns

Well, that night wasn't as simple as everything-happened-as-planned thing. Rewinding back to the part where me, a guy friend and a girl friend, went out to buy food. Our mood that time was sleepy, tired and hungry. It was drizzling and the streets were dimly lit. Nobody, as in no other person was walking at that time of the night other than the three of us and we did that for the sake of our growling tummies. As we were looking for a place to buy food, we saw a bunch of people and still lit establishments three blocks away from our hotel. Our eyes twinkled as we saw McDonald's! I was like, "okay guys, no more choosing, this is it. No other choice."

Arriving late at night, we were worried that no one will receive us in the reception area. Upon arriving at Hotel All Seasons in Cairns, we saw this warmly lit. green and white colored building. As the cab pulled over the drive way, we excitedly went in as we were all tired and hungry.

Last day in Melbourne, on the way to the airport

We booked an evening flight from Melbourne to Cairns. As we set the car GPS to head to the airport, rain continuously poured in the Melbourne highway. We had to dropby the nearest gasoline station to fill up our tank as we would be returning it to Avis. They would be charging us the fuel needed to fill the tank + service charges and other stuff if we didn't fill up the tank.

• Enter the airport precinct from Airport Drive (main entrance road to Melbourne Airport off Tullamarine Freeway).
• Turn left at Centre Road.
• 20 metres on, turn right into Depot Drive.
