The other day, I saw a news regarding the recall of the iPod Nano first gen. I got excited because I have one and I still use it from time to time but the battery life is not long for this unit. I usually charge it using my MiLi power pack to extend the battery life.

Kota Kinabalu Shopping Malls and Market
Planning to go shopping in KK? Let us show you some of the malls around Sabah, Malaysia - Kota Kinabalu city in particular. We did this all in one whole day. Yes, it can be done, but be ready for some serious walking.
Our day 3 was a Sunday. I didn't schedule any activities for the day and we decided to make it our shopping day since the Gaya street market is only open during Sundays. Gaya Street Sunday market is open from 6am to 1pm.

Kinabalu Park and a Wild Boar Sidetrip
Kinabalu Park is Malaysia's first world heritage site by UNESCO for its outstanding biological attributes. With a huge area of 75,400 hectares, it is actually larger than Singapore. This is also the first State Park in Sabah (1964).
The region was designated as a national park in 1964. British colonial administrator and naturalist Hugh Low led an expedition from Tuaran to the region in 1895. He also became the first recorded man to reach the peak of Mount Kinabalu The highest peak of the mountain was later named after him—Low's Peak.

Poring Hot Springs - Kota Kinabalu Attractions (Sabah, Malaysia)
40 minutes from Pekan Nabalu, we arrived at the Poring Hot Springs area. Our guide bought us tickets and we went in. Toured us around and explained some stuff. By some, I mean, him, pointing out that the water is natural and came from the mountains. Our guide doesn't talk much. He showed us where the public and private bath is. We also walk passed the butterfly farm until we arrived at the canopy walk starting point.
Poring is situated in the lowlands -- a contrast to the parks HQ and a tourist resort in Sabah, Malaysia. This is one of the recommended place to go to when in Kota Kinabalu. After going to Gerai Pekan Nabalu, this route is on the way up to the Mount Kinabalu Park which is 40km away. The word "Poring" came from a bamboo species found in the area.

Cash or Visa Debit Card? Which do your prefer?
What is a debit card?
It's also known as a check card. When you make a payment using a debit card, funds are directly deducted from your bank account and transferred to the account of the store where you made the payment. It's like cash, only handier. Also, this will keep you within your budget as you cannot spend more than what your bank account has - a nice tool to discipline impulse spending habits. Take note that you shouldn't be charged for any additional fees or interest rates.

Positivity Campaign from Globe Prepaid #TodayIWill
Ever since I became one of the Live Positively ambassadors for Coca Cola, I try my best to exhibit, live and breath positiveness. So far, so good. Although this might be a bit of a challenge in our generation right now, everyone of us could use a good start. This is why I also made my statement for Globe's Today I Will campaign (Twitter Hashtag #todayiwill).
Last Sunday, me and several other bloggers got featured in Philippine Star. It's all about us, the youth (ahem-ahem) embracing positivity. This time, it's Globe strengthening their advocacy for the youth.

Pekan Nabalu Lookout Point - Kota Kinabalu
Pekan Nabalu - Kota Kinabalu Day 02
After having breakfast at the hotel, our tour van picked us up and off we go on a 2-hour journey up to see Mount Kinabalu (from afar). According to our tour guide, "Kina" means witch and "Balu" means mountain. Before, Mount Kinabalu was called Mount Api-Api. It was believed that the souls of the dead go up that mountain and thus, respect must be exercised when climbing Mount Kinabalu. Same as climbing other mountains.

Car Sticker Advertising Experience in Manila
If you've read my previous post about the car sticker advertising here in Manila, I finally tried it out for myself! The deal was, I need to run a minimum of 300kms in 30 days before they issue me the 1000-peso gas card from Caltex. Since I don't mind sticking a sticker type of ad at the back of my car, I decided to try it out. I had my sticker installed on Sept 30 and they asked me to go back on Oct 30. I completely forgot that I was scheduled to leave the country on Oct 28! They were flexible enough to allow me to return and have my mileage checked on Nov 3.

Tips: Traveling to Kota Kinabalu via Air Asia and DMIA Clark Airport
I've only been to Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) once. It was just last March when I went to Australia. Before, we went with my friend using his driver. This time, I need to guide my driver to go to DMIA. Problem is, I already forgot how to go there. My GPS pointed us to use the Angeles exit but i'm pretty sure that we used another exit before. (Tip: Want a faster way to DMIA? Use Dau exit.)
Don't use Angeles exit if you can. City traffic is bad and they blocked several roads when we passed there making our travel time longer than expected. Upon reaching the airport, we did the usual procedures and lined up for baggage drop off.
Please read the next paragraph if you are flying Air Asia
