Cory Aquino -The Trip From La Salle Greenhills to Ayala to Manila Cathedral

http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/5782/edsarevolutionpic1.jpg
Although I wasn't born yet when Ninoy Aquino was assassinated, several news anchors mentioned earlier that it was a replay of the events that happened 26 years back.

I went to the office on my usual time but as soon as I heard the convoy leaving La Salle Greenhills, I immediately went home so I could watch and take part (in my own ways) in this historical event.

From La Salle Greenhills to Ayala Avenue
Although today is not yet the burial day of Her Excellency, a lot of people was moved and touch in a way fellow Filipinos and foreigners paid respect to past president Corazon Aquino.

The travel time from LSGH to Makati wasn't so bad. The convoyed slowed down big time upon arriving Buendia/Ayala area because nearly 25,000 people paid respect to Cory Aquino. Office workers, CEOs, white or blue collar workers, nearby residents and Filipinos of all classes joined as Cory passed through the Ninoy Aquino Statue.

Current Updates
2:40pm, the funeral convoy just passed SSH-Quirino Ave. People standing there were waiting for several hours already according to Alex Santos. Everyone is cheering "Cory! Cory! Cory!" and waving the "L" sign that symbolizes Cory Aquino and the "L" sign means, Laban (Fight)!

In around an hour or 2, the convoy would be arriving Manila Cathedral and public viewing is scheduled and was supposed to start around 4pm (August 03,2009).

Information about Cory's Funeral
On Wednesday, there would be a 9am mass before escorting her excellency to her final resting place.

Also, someone from the Aquino family requested the public that not all follow them until Manila Memorial because of the limited capacity of the said place where president Cory will be placed.

Paying respect in many ways
There are many ways to pay respect if you can't pay her a visit. You can pray for her, pray for our country and pray for her relatives. Attach yellow ribbons in your cars, office windows or your gates at home.

1 yard of yellow ribbon costs around 4 pesos. I bought mine yesterday and I don't think it's that expensive.

Corazon "Cory" Aquino's Passing

http://www.wright.edu/studentorgs/humanics/yellow-ribbon.jpg
It's not very often that I feel sad for a passing of a public figure. I didn't feel sad when MJ passed but, with Tita Cory, I am sad and actually shocked about it. Although her vital signs were not as good before this, I had hope that she would recover.

According to an article in CNN,

a self-styled housewife and mother, became an international symbol for nonviolent political resistance when she took over as the first female president of the Philippines in 1986.

I think, that is the one of the best ways to describe Cory Aquino. She was also the woman of the year back in 1986.

Here are her photos from Time Website

Well, I think that it's God will that she doesn't deserve to be suffering anymore.

Earlier, Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino released this statement (delivered around 5am in Makati Medical Center):

Our mother peacefully passed away at 3:18 a.m., August 1 of cardiorespiratory arrest.

She would have wanted us to thank each and everyone of you for all your continued love and support. It was her wish for all of us to pray for one another and for our country.

Meanwhile, President GMA is still in the United States for her meeting with US President Barrack Obama, the palace declared a week of mourning for Corazon Aquino.
