Halalan 2010 iPhone application

I was checking the Apple App Store out when I saw this application called Halalan 2010.
I got intrigued about it and it was free of charge so, I immediately downloaded it.
http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/9062/halalan2010banneriphone.jpg
Upon opening the application, a simple yet clear user interface greeted me. I registered (it won't take more than 30 seconds) and voila! I can already vote! (This is just a mock election)

http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/851/registerandvote.jpg

To register, you need not input your name. Just your age-group, gender, country and work.

After voting, I excitedly checked out the results. As of January 19, 2010 (1:52pm Philippine time) Here are the results:

According to the creator of the application, he created it because,

I am not motivated by any party or political group. I am not affiliated with any survey organization or company. My main objective is to have an unbiased, honest and independent survey for the Philippine Elections on 2010.
Also, you can check out the live statistics on where the votes are coming from. Nice application!

So, are you guys ready for the upcoming 2010 elections? The main question is... would the automated elections push through..? hmm...

Erap for President; Aling Dionisia for showbiz!

SERIOUSLY, What is wrong with our world!?

Her popularity is, being the mom of a famous international sports boxing champion. We of course, respect what she wants because it's her life. My point is, it just proves the old adage "Money can move mountains".

http://zerozeros.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/05/edsa_2.jpg
Going back to Joseph "ERAP" Estrada, I don't think it's a wise move to vote an ousted ex-president. Although he was ousted illegally, the court made it legal because it already happened (of course, with someone powerful at the back, who would not follow).

Quoting the study, the deposed leader maintained that the constitutional ban on the reelection of chief executives applied to “sitting presidents” and not to a former president like him who wasn’t even able to finish his term.

But according to the Philippine constitutional law, section 4 states that:

A person who has held the office of president is absolutely disqualified for ANY reelection, whether immediately after his term or after an interval of one or more terms. He cannot run even for a single reelection.
-Source
So, that law clearly states that Erap is disqualified to run. He fits in the 2 clauses specified by the constitutional law. One, he has held office. Two, He is disqualified from ANY reelection. Besides, he was ousted before. Why would you vote for him again? In another point of view, those people who ousted him elected a president that they also want to oust!

Why not give other aspiring presidentiables a chance to bring this country up? I know that someone can! We must not give in to promises that we know, never came true anyways. We must vote for someone whom we think is really deserving!

The ban on reelection will also put an end or at least hamper the establishment of politiclal dynasties.
There you go. In the end, it will still be you who will decide whom to vote.

One more thing, I really hate aling dionisia's Dior shades! She wears it all the time!!! If she is being interviewed, she will slowly remove it before the interview ends! Yun lang :)

Showbiz ba? Mag-basa ka nalang ng SHOWBIZ HERE. Baka pag-tawanan ka lang pag nag-artista ka aling dionisia. Just enjoy what you have. Besides, hindi na mauubos ni Manny Pacquiao ang pera niya. Just travel around the world if I were you.

Former President Estrada to Return

Manila, Philippines - Disgraced former Philippine president and actor Joseph Estrada said Thursday he would return to the....... silver screen with the shooting of a new movie in May.

http://edition.cnn.com/2001/WORLD/asiapcf/southeast/04/22/estrada.profile/story.estrada.cnn.jpg

At first when I saw the news, I thought, he was having plans of "ousting" President Gloria Macapagal Arrovo. Well, it is better that he continue his show business career rather than continuing his political career.

Estrada made over a hundred movies in 30 years. He is perceived as one of the modern robin hoods in his movies.

Erap, Eligible to Run in 2010

Joseph Estrada is eligible to run for the 2010 Philippine Presidential Elections. Raul Goco, a former solicitor general said that, Estrada did not finish his 6 year term which ended January 20, 2001. Estrada added that he left the palace to prevent blood-shed.

Goco asked Estrada to answer on that matter, Estrada told Raul Goco that he has yet no plans of running in 2010. “It is not easy to answer you at this time. But my objective right now is to unite the opposition to ensure the opposition’s victory in 2010," according to Estrada.

Estrada added, "Whoever will have the highest rating in the surveys, he or she will be the presidential candidate I will support in 2010."

Boracay Mansion and other Erap properties to be confiscated

Come November 7, former President Joseph Estrada will be facing a new headache – the Sandiganbayan will issue a Writ of Execution confiscating almost P900 million worth of his assets.

ABS-CBN’s Ces Oreña Drilon reported that this was stipulated in the ruling handed down by the Sandiganbayan last September 12.

The graft court ruled that since Estrada was found guilty of plunder, he would have to return P545 million deposited in the account of the Erap Muslim Youth Foundation, P189 million in another account under the name of Jose Velarde and P142 million in real property consisting of a house and lot dubbed as Boracay mansion located at No. 100, 11th St., New Manila, Quezon City.
