If you are thinking of what Christmas gift to give to friends and relatives this Christmas, may I suggest a few not-so-expensive Christmas gift ideas?
*This list is inspired by the movie, City of Ember, Wall-E and the game series, Fallout.
I can't help but think that this is not far from reality. I had played the original fallout game and I enjoyed it. It was somewhat similar to the Wall E movie, except that in Wall E, there was no life on Earth anymore. In fallout, there were life but, radiation was high that you have to bring Anti-radiation medicine with you all the time.

They all have something similar. A hiding place. In fallout, a vault was made to isolate people infected with sickness and radiation. In the movie City of Ember, an undergound city was made. in Wall E, a spaceship was made as their refuge from Earth's destruction.
What if one day, all the oil would be depleted and we would experience a similar scenario like what was shown in those movies?
Here are some suggestions, on what to give this Christmas.
(NO BATTERIES NEEDED IN ALL OF THE GADGETS LISTED BELOW)
1. LED squeeze flashlight
Just squeeze to recharge the power and it's ready to use!!! Convert your unused energy into good use! In divisoria (Manila), you could buy such device for as low as $2 US Dollars.
2. Crank-it-up emergency radio
Who needs expensive batteries? Even if there is no power shortage right now (just yet), why not use this crank-up powered radio? It's worth investing on because in the near future where power and oil, including batteries would be scarce and amazingly expensive, you still have a radio to listen to. It's time to invent a crank-it-up iPod, laptop, cellphone etc...
3. Solar charger
Yep, it does what it says. You need sunlight though. Very handy to use when camping outdoors. Make sure you use a reliable network and install animal repellents around or your phone might be gobbled up into peices.
4. The ever reliable, Swiss army knife
I had one since I was a kid and yes, it still is in the same condition when it was first given to me. No, it's not that I am not using it. The quality is just great. My parents bought me a "Swiss Champ" for around $50 US dollars in Puerto Rico more than 10 years ago (1997). I still use it and find it very handy. Another worthy tool to buy!
5. First aid kit
It's not that you are accident prone. This is just getting ready for everything yo wouldn't want to happen. Whether you are over 40 or not, you might find this very useful.
6. Protective gear
I know I am being crazily paranoid right now but, in the future, you can surely use the gas masks to prevent breathing in the air pollution in the air, a rain boots to prevent stepping on polluted water on the streets, Goggles to protect your eyes from the unidentified flying particles in the air and a whole body gear just like what the bomb squad wears to protect you from possible harm from exploding you-don't-know-whats, if you don't mind looking like this though:
7. Underground place
Yep, this would be the ultimate gift to receive this Christmas. An underground home!!! How cool is that!? You would be protected from Nuclear blasts, typhoons, tornadoes and other catastrophes. Just make sure that you water seal every possible hole and your water pump would be fool-proof or else you might drown.
8. Last but not the least (but the most recommended) The Holy Bible.
This would be the most worthy investment of all. This can save you, you can get salvation from here and the best part is, you can get all that if you accept Jesus Christ as your personal saviour. This book is also a problem solver, you can get life-changing quotations and this book will show you that there is hope.
Well, Christmas is around the corner but it's still not too late to buy these gifts to give this Christmas!
