MILF legally a terrorist group according to RA9372

Clearly, we all know that the Moro Islamic Liberation Front isn't liberating anyone but them - the terrorist themselves.

http://itstrulyrandom.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/terrorists.jpg

Republic Act 9372 (R.A. 9372) otherwise known as the Human Security Act states that for one to be called a terrorist group, it should have these characteristics:

SEC. 3. Terrorism.- Any person who commits an act punishable under any of the following provisions of the Revised Penal Code:

a. Article 122 (Piracy in General and Mutiny in the High Seas or in the Philippine Waters);

b. Article 134 (Rebellion or Insurrection);

c. Article 134-a (Coup d' Etat), including acts committed by private persons;

d. Article 248 (Murder);

e. Article 267 (Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention);

f. Article 324 (Crimes Involving Destruction), or under
  1. Presidential Decree No. 1613 (The Law on Arson);
  2. Republic Act No. 6969 (Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Waste Control Act of 1990);
  3. Republic Act No. 5207, (Atomic Energy Regulatory and Liability Act of 1968);
  4. Republic Act No. 6235 (Anti-Hijacking Law);
  5. Presidential Decree No. 532 (Anti-Piracy and Anti-Highway Robbery Law of 1974); and,
  6. Presidential Decree No. 1866, as amended (Decree Codifying the Laws on Illegal and Unlawful Possession, Manufacture, Dealing in, Acquisition or Disposition of Firearms, Ammunitions or Explosives)
    thereby sowing and creating a condition of widespread and extraordinary fear and panic among the populace, in order to coerce the government to give in to an unlawful demand shall be guilty of the crime of terrorism and shall suffer the penalty of forty (40) years of imprisonment, without the benefit of parole as provided for under Act No. 4103, otherwise known as the Indeterminate Sentence Law, as amended.
So, anyone who knows how to read and write would be capable of understanding what the MILF's did and thus, fits the definition to be called "terrorists". They are doing such as a threat for their unlawful demand for Arroyo to sign the Bangsamoro Juridical Entity or BJE.

Although we understand the position of the government, the MILF, being called a terrorist could cause a full scale war. No more peace talks, those terrorists can be arrested even without warrant of arrest, and they would get 40 years sentence without parole (Yehey!)

The government should look into this deeper. The problem here is, they keep on talking with MILF when in fact, they do not know whether there is a bigger group than the MILF's because according to the MILF spokesperson, they tried to contain the attacks but, weren't successful in doing so.

That means only one thing. There is another group forming and the only way to stop this group from creating more damage is to pulverize them all.

Abuse on "8" plates around Metro Manila -

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is seeking a dialogue with the new leadership of the House of Representatives for a review of the issuance of the congressional protocol plate, which has been subject to abuse by unscrupulous groups.

LTO chief Alberto Suansing said among the proposals he would like to discuss with Speaker Prospero Nograles is indicating the district of the congressman on his vehicle’s protocol plate.

He said that because the congressional districts are not indicated on the protocol plates, fake ones are used by people to avoid obeying traffic rules and car smugglers in slipping out unregistered vehicles from various ports in the country.

"We will seek the issuance of tamper-proof protocol plates, just like those issued to senators, justices, and Cabinet members," Suansing said.

He also pointed out that except for vehicles that belong to the Office of the President, all cars are supposed to have a protocol plate in front and regular LTO-issued plates at the rear.

Suansing expressed concern over the proliferation of fake plates, the latest report of which involves a Hummer H2 that is now the subject of a metropolis-wide alert because it is allegedly not registered with the LTO.

The Hummer, which bore an ‘8’ plate in front and a 2007 California plate 7P78127 at the back, was escorted by a White Fortuner when it was spotted cruising along Roxas Boulevard last week.

The White Fortuner was traced to a Binondo trader engaged in the trucking business at the Port of Manila.

I agree. You know whats better? A law which don't have double standards.

If you are a real Senator, hanging an "8" in your license plate, does that make you a immune to traffic violations? When you are a government official up high, you should be following rules and regulations more. You guys make it and you guys break it.

For those who have escorts while traversing the Metro, I think you should try driving around without back-up security to open your eyes on the road situation here in the Philippines. Having a back-up escort means, securing you, guarding you and not counter-flowing, breaking laws you made and abusing your power.

Arroyo and her HSA

The Philippines is no longer the weakest link in the regional fight against terror with the implementation of the Human Security Act (HSA) last weekend, President Arroyo said Monday.

"The Philippines has been a strong link in the war on terror. We have been able to (gain) a lot of headway," Mrs. Arroyo told Reuters in an interview at Malacañang on Saturday.

"The lair of the terrorists gets smaller as our area of peace and understanding gets bigger," she said.

Protests greeted the law’s implementation last Sunday, and communist rebels even threatened to intensify their offensive in response. Some quarters, particularly leftist groups, believe the Arroyo administration intends to use the law to harass its political opponents.

In her Reuters’ interview, Mrs. Arroyo boasted of the breakthroughs in her administration’s war on terror, particularly against the al Qaeda-linked Abu Sayyaf. She said she expected to chalk up more victories with the HSA in force.

The Philippines has long been considered the weakest link in the war against terror in the region due to its poorly equipped and corruption-prone military and police forces as well as its lax border controls.

Security experts also said the lack of an anti-terror law also makes it hard for the Philippines to coordinate with other nations on cross-border terror activities.

The President noted the administration has a "new paradigm for peace in Mindanao," where private armies and loose firearms abound and where the government is battling two big rebel groups – the New People’s Army and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

"It is a combination of soft and hard power. We meld together interfaith dialogue and cultural awareness, economic development and infrastructure development in the former conflict areas and mutual security arrangements to isolate the terrorists – that’s where the hard power comes in. It’s been a good paradigm," Mrs. Arroyo said. "It’s a paradigm we wish to share to the world."

Good luck to us, citizens of the Philippines. although she has a point that this will lessen malicious mischiefs, this is not an assurance for it. how can we know that the government is not behind some of those mischiefs for this act to be passed?

what if they just planned those to implement this act and use HSA against her enemies and arch-rivals.

If she has no bad intention, then good for us. I am neutral about this act because i have done nothing wrong to be monitored. im just one ordinary Juan Dela Cruz, enjoying everyday of my life as a young adult, living one day at a time using God's ways.
