Demands: Abu Sayyaf and the Government

Those evil extremists are now holding a deadline and threatened to hurt their victims unless the Philippine government complies with their request. According to a news,

ABS-CBN television journalist Ces Drilon, her cameramen Jimmy Encarnacion and Angelo Valderama, and university professor Octavio Dinampo, were heading to a secret meeting with a senior Abu Sayyaf leader when they were seized.

The abductors freed Valderama on June 12 after a ransom of 100,000 pesos (about 2,250 dollars) was paid.

I thought that the government is following a strict compliance with the no ransom policy? The Abu Sayyaf gave an ultimatum that they comply on June 17,2008 to resolve the problem. Drilon's family is interested in negotiating with the captors.

The government is offering a half million pesos reward for anyone who catches, kills or leads the army to the captors.

I am just so outraged. I don't know the words to use but, I hope that the captors will finally realize what their wrong doings are. I am just putting this in a calm manner but deep inside of me... nevermind...

No ransom policy followed

Brave but a must decision for ABS-CBN

After confirming reports yesterday june 11,2008, a day before Philippines Independence day, that Ces Drilon and her crew were kidnapped, they will be not giving in to their captors request. It would just make it worst for the entire country because proving it was a success, the Abu Sayyaf group would intensify their kidnapping operations more than the Philippine army , air force and navy would intensify theirs.

No exact details on how much the terrorists are asking for Ces Drilon and her crew's safe release, but words are, they were asking for 230,000 to 455,000 US Dollars. ABS-CBN still sticks to it's no ransom payment policy as of the moment.

Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) is a Muslim extremist group linked by intelligence agencies to the Al Queda Network. Drilon is the 3rd journalist being kidnapped by the ASG

They must really not give in. I hope that they will soon realize that what they do is not right. Since when is doing bad the right thing? Their greeds are sinking in, that's why.
