Halalan 2010 iPhone application

I was checking the Apple App Store out when I saw this application called Halalan 2010.
I got intrigued about it and it was free of charge so, I immediately downloaded it.

Upon opening the application, a simple yet clear user interface greeted me. I registered (it won't take more than 30 seconds) and voila! I can already vote! (This is just a mock election)



To register, you need not input your name. Just your age-group, gender, country and work.


After voting, I excitedly checked out the results. As of January 19, 2010 (1:52pm Philippine time) Here are the results:




According to the creator of the application, he created it because,

I am not motivated by any party or political group. I am not affiliated with any survey organization or company. My main objective is to have an unbiased, honest and independent survey for the Philippine Elections on 2010.

How to Dig a Deeper Grave for the Philippines

Only 2 weeks to go before the voter registration ends.. Please, for the sake of our country, exercise your right to vote! Register to vote!

Believe me, leaving your work a day or 2 just to register to vote is more worth rather than the suffering we will all experience in a term of the wrongly elected president.

Haven't we learned our lessons yet? The more we don't vote, the more we dig a deeper grave for our country. Remember, this is our one and only country. Not only yours, not only mine. If we don't care because we think our country is a hopeless case, who will give a damn to care?

Let us not add up to the problem. The domino effect will surely hit you sooner or later. If even our leaders aren't united because of selfish ambitions and reasons, don't you think that we should be the example for them rather than waiting for them to act right? Let us stop blaming them and let us be the first right example.

Let them know that they aren't liked for what they did rather than kissing their asses because they are good to you.

Before voting, please make sure that your candidate is really qualified. Not only technically and legally but more importantly, competitively.

It doesn't mean that when everyone is doing it, it is right and vice versa. Listen to what those politicians are saying. Look at what they are doing. And finally, check out if they are doing what they are saying because these 3 are entirely different things.

So, please please please -- do register and vote so you would not be contributing to a deeper grave for our beloved Philippines. I already registered.

Lenient laws in the Philippines should be blamed

I was out of the country the past few days and immediately noticed something and I know that most of the Filipinos abroad also noticed this.

Filipinos living in another country other than the Philippines are more disciplined. So, how come when people live here in the Philippines, they become law violators? The law should be blamed because to tell you the truth, our penalties are just nothing to most of the people.

When smoking in a no smoking area in Hong Kong, you can be penalized for 5,000 Hong Kong Dollars. That is equivalent to around 30,000 pesos. Do we have that?

When crossing the street there, people are cautious because they know that when they will be bumped by a vehicle, they themselves are the ones to be blamed. Unlike here in the Philippines, the driver is to be blamed. What if it was really the person crossing the streets' fault?

Lastly, as i've said in one of my previous blogs, laws here are good for 1 - 2 months (or lesser). Look at the commemorative plate law. A lot of people are using commemorative plates again!

This is the main reason why we don't improve. We need to vote a president in 2010 who can be FIRM enough to eradicate red tape and implement stricter rules.

Bong Revilla for Vice?

Senator Bong Revilla - Number three after Sen. Mar Roxas in number one position and Sen. Jinggoy Estrada in number two.

What is he doing now?
-Without publicity, he has been doing relief work for the victims of Typhoon Frank in Iloilo and Aklan. (Wrong! I've heard this on the radio. Although the publicity was after the relief work)

- He says rehabilitation will take years and he’s appealing to all Filipinos to donate to the DSWD

- He did not comment on the ZTE scam but emphasized he’ll take the correct side

- He holds the record of having passed the most number of bills in the 13th Congress. This includes the Cheaper Medicine Law, UP Charter, Juvenile Justice Law and Bio-Fuels Law

- He says corruption is the root cause why poverty is widespread in the country

What will he do?

- He says it will be his crusade when elected as vice president

- He’d like to prove that even if he’s an undergraduate, he could be an effective vice president.

- He explained, “Kailangan natin ng mga nanunungkulan na may puso at talino. Hindi puwede na may talino lang baka lokohin lang tayo. Kailangan magkasama ang talino at puso para makaahon tayo sa kahirapan.”

Which part will he get my vote?

Bayani Fernando For President?

Yes. I would support him. Of all the possible candidates, I will vote for him. He is the only politician who doesn't go after peoples vote.

Some projects (Not all received applauses from citizens.)

sample: Illegal vendors.

What Other politicians does:
- Let them stay there.
- Give them shirts bearing their names.
- Builds waiting sheds with their names flashing. (so the street vendors won't get wet if it rains.)

What Bayani does:
- Forces them to leave. (it is not their space, they are creating traffic.)
- Doesn't care even if he loses street vendor's votes. What he does is what is right. not where the vote is.
- Demolishes illegal sign boards that becomes and obstruction.

That is just some. I just liked the way he and his wife managed Marikina City. It is now a city where I want to live because of the clean and disciplined surroundings.

He is just preventing crime for Gods sake. I can also agree with you motorcycle guys that, it looks ugly. but for the sake and safety of everyone, I will do my fair share for the improvement of the Philippines.

Another: Pink Fences in EDSA.

I agree. Its not appropriate. But that is the only measure to implement for those bus drivers who either have no brains, can't read or just plainly stubborn. (I am so sorry to be harsh but I am very irritated by their driving attitude, swerving from left to right carelessly and stopping wherever they want to.)

Another Sample: U-turn slots

Yes, this eases traffic flow but, this has caused many accidents. As i have said, not all received applauses, but, this is a start. rather than thinking and thinking and planning and planning all the time, redundantly, at least they are taking action to ease the traffic flow. Just re-study this U-turn slot please.

Another project (Marides, her wife):

Tree planting. We have donated several hundred thousand trees (or half) already through the Rotary Club and have seen the Marikina River Banks improve a lot. Greener fresher Marikina in the future, unlike other cities. Good Job.

As I have said, I am not a registered voter but, I am already more than the minimum voting age and if Bayani Fernando runs for President, He can count on my support.
