How to Dig a Deeper Grave for the Philippines

Only 2 weeks to go before the voter registration ends.. Please, for the sake of our country, exercise your right to vote! Register to vote!

Believe me, leaving your work a day or 2 just to register to vote is more worth rather than the suffering we will all experience in a term of the wrongly elected president.

Haven't we learned our lessons yet? The more we don't vote, the more we dig a deeper grave for our country. Remember, this is our one and only country. Not only yours, not only mine. If we don't care because we think our country is a hopeless case, who will give a damn to care?

Let us not add up to the problem. The domino effect will surely hit you sooner or later. If even our leaders aren't united because of selfish ambitions and reasons, don't you think that we should be the example for them rather than waiting for them to act right? Let us stop blaming them and let us be the first right example.

Let them know that they aren't liked for what they did rather than kissing their asses because they are good to you.

Before voting, please make sure that your candidate is really qualified. Not only technically and legally but more importantly, competitively.

It doesn't mean that when everyone is doing it, it is right and vice versa. Listen to what those politicians are saying. Look at what they are doing. And finally, check out if they are doing what they are saying because these 3 are entirely different things.

So, please please please -- do register and vote so you would not be contributing to a deeper grave for our beloved Philippines. I already registered.

Also, this Friday, please support this cause -- it's a concert. To enter, just bring
donations for those affected by Typhoon Pepeng and Ondoy (Although not required, better if you have).

Erap, Eligible to Run in 2010

Joseph Estrada is eligible to run for the 2010 Philippine Presidential Elections. Raul Goco, a former solicitor general said that, Estrada did not finish his 6 year term which ended January 20, 2001. Estrada added that he left the palace to prevent blood-shed.

Goco asked Estrada to answer on that matter, Estrada told Raul Goco that he has yet no plans of running in 2010. “It is not easy to answer you at this time. But my objective right now is to unite the opposition to ensure the opposition’s victory in 2010," according to Estrada.

Estrada added, "Whoever will have the highest rating in the surveys, he or she will be the presidential candidate I will support in 2010."

Bayani Fernando For President?

Yes. I would support him. Of all the possible candidates, I will vote for him. He is the only politician who doesn't go after peoples vote.

Some projects (Not all received applauses from citizens.)

sample: Illegal vendors.

What Other politicians does:
- Let them stay there.
- Give them shirts bearing their names.
- Builds waiting sheds with their names flashing. (so the street vendors won't get wet if it rains.)

What Bayani does:
- Forces them to leave. (it is not their space, they are creating traffic.)
- Doesn't care even if he loses street vendor's votes. What he does is what is right. not where the vote is.
- Demolishes illegal sign boards that becomes and obstruction.

That is just some. I just liked the way he and his wife managed Marikina City. It is now a city where I want to live because of the clean and disciplined surroundings.

sample: Motorcycles.

He is just preventing crime for Gods sake. I can also agree with you motorcycle guys that, it looks ugly. but for the sake and safety of everyone, I will do my fair share for the improvement of the Philippines.

Another: Pink Fences in EDSA.

I agree. Its not appropriate. But that is the only measure to implement for those bus drivers who either have no brains, can't read or just plainly stubborn. (I am so sorry to be harsh but I am very irritated by their driving attitude, swerving from left to right carelessly and stopping wherever they want to.)

Another Sample: U-turn slots

Yes, this eases traffic flow but, this has caused many accidents. As i have said, not all received applauses, but, this is a start. rather than thinking and thinking and planning and planning all the time, redundantly, at least they are taking action to ease the traffic flow. Just re-study this U-turn slot please.

Another project (Marides, her wife):

Tree planting. We have donated several hundred thousand trees (or half) already through the Rotary Club and have seen the Marikina River Banks improve a lot. Greener fresher Marikina in the future, unlike other cities. Good Job.

As I have said, I am not a registered voter but, I am already more than the minimum voting age and if Bayani Fernando runs for President, He can count on my support.

By the way, I made that image of Bayani Fernando above. LOL.

Winners have to wait.

he Commission on Elections said Thursday that it will postpone the partial proclamation of winning senatorial candidates Saturday.

On Wednesday the COMELEC announced it will be able to proclaim nine of the 12 winners in the senatorial race over the weekend. The commission had given itself until Friday to finish its tally at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

Thursday's announcement followed a complaint from election lawyer Romulo Macalintal of the administration-backed Team Unity. He said the COMELEC has no right to partially proclaim winning candidates until all the votes are canvassed.

"Maari lang magawa 'yan kung ang [certificates of canvass] na hindi din dumarating ay hindi na darating. In other words hindi mo na makikita kailanman (A partial proclamation of winning candidates can only be done if the certificates of canvass that have failed to arrive will no longer arrive)," Macalintal said

As of 6:30 p.m. Thursday, opposition senatorial candidate Loren Legarda continued to lead the pack in the latest partial and unofficial count of the COMELEC.

Legarda received 13,429,994 votes, followed by fellow Genuine Opposition candidates Francis Escudero (13,267,409), Panfilo Lacson (11,183,342) and Manuel Villar (11,129,535). Independent candidate Francis Pangilinan remained in fifth place with 10,562,117 votes.

In sixth-10th places were GO’s Benigno Aquino III (10,344,429), Team Unity’s Edgardo Angara (8,832,343), GO’s Alan Peter Cayetano (8,486,757), Joker Arroyo of TU (8,403,409) and independent Gregorio Honasan (8,313,266).

Antonio Trillanes IV (8,036,988) and Aquilino Pimentel III (7,683,384), both from the opposition, ranked the 11th and 12th, respectively.

Behind Pimentel were TU’s Juan Miguel Zubiri (7,647,612), Ralph Recto (7,607,490) and Michael Defensor (7,016,505) who filled up the 13th, 14th and 15th places, respectively.

After elections, or even before, Peso has been soaring high and yesterday, it reached the 45 level! This will be bad and good for some but in general, good for the Philippines. this will hurt the exporters and the OFW's who send remittances.

The composite index closed up 38.69 points at 3,505.03, surpassing Monday’s record of 3,466.34, after setting an intraday record high of 3,505.66. The broader all-share index gained 21.94 points to 2,234.47.

Gainers beat losers 63 to 46, while 57 stocks ended flat. A total of 7.4 billion shares worth P7.3 billion were traded.

“The market is in uncharted territory and is still looking at where momentum will be capped,” said Rommel Macapagal of Westlink Global Equities. “We touched the 3,500 mark and in the next few days we’ll see if the market can hold ground.”
