Lim: Genuine statesmanship and decisive leadership

“Mayor Lim’s act should be emulated by other opposition leaders who have taken their prejudice against the President too personally. We need more leaders like Mayor Lim who are committed to faithfully and conscientiously fulfill their sworn duties,” Zialcita said in a statement.

He believed that Lim’s commitment to fulfill his duty would promote closer cooperation and ties between the administration and Lim, as well as other opposition leaders.

He added, Lim’s decision to open Mendiola to rallies only on holidays and weekends and only after the ralliers have secured the necessary permit was a right and just decision.

“He knows the adjustments were important so as not to inconvenience the public or disrupt the flow of traffic. That was a prudent decision on the part of Mayor Lim,” Zialcita pointed out.

On the part of militant groups, Zialcita, meanwhile, urged them to cooperate well with the Manila City hall on matters pertaining to conduct of rallies.

“Setting rally guidelines do not mean local officials wanted to ignore their freedom of speech and expression or to peaceably assemble. The guidelines are meant to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the rallies for public good,” Zialcita concluded.

Lim, is just doing his job, setting aside personal infavorabilities to his opposing side. He just decides for the good of everyone. Setting rules in the rally area is not bad. he is not forcing them not to rally but, Lim is just concerned because classes in that area will be interrupted. are those rallyist selfish and they just only tihnk of themselves rather than the most majority who, they will bug in their area of rally?

think! we have freedom of speech but, do it else where, where you cant bug students who wants to learn.
