Stiffer penalties for fake docs should be implemented.

This is what happens if you want to improve how you look and on a tight budget at the same time.

Fake doc held for injecting 'motor oil' on patients

Authorities warned the public against fake dermatologists after four people were injected with silicon oil usually used as lubricant for heavy machinery, instead of collagen, a substance employed to get a prominent cheekbone.

Two of the complainants identified as Mica Yap and Carla Belgica said they tapped the services of suspect Kiel San Miguel so that they will have noticeable cheeckbones. The two said they frequently join gay beauty pageants.

The process which involves injecting collagen on the cheeks only cost P3,500, the complainants said.

Instead of a prominent cheekbone, Yap and Belgica said they ended up with swollen faces.

However, silicone oil it was banned because of the many side effects it causes the patients.

Silicone oil, he said, is used as motor oil and tire black and can cause blindness when it reaches the brain nerves.
