Globe Visibility review -A Warning!

Ever got this message? " please wait 2 seconds for an uncompressed image, or press Ctrl+F5 for original quality page "

Yes, just recently Globe implemented something that compresses image quality for Globe Visibility subscribers. This is also the reason why I find 62.0.5.134 on some of my images!!!

At first, I thought I was hacked and I later learned that this is somewhat like a proxy that compresses images.

I am paying a lot for this contraption and technology and I get pixelated images???

This sucks!

*** Oh, another thing that sucks? the friggin captcha words do not appear so I need to "listen" to the computer blabber the captcha code!!!!

---UPDATES---
If you want to join the thousands of people complaining, go to the ff threads and you would know why YOU MUST NOT GET the GLOBE VISIBILITY service.

Hey Mang Donald,

You're not a CEO of a company naman, right? hehe

Anyway, I just posted another horror story with regards to Globe sucky services. Sayang talaga, I was a Globe Visibility evangelist back then. My friends got one. Too bad, napahiya ako now.

If we are talking about cellular phone services like calling and texting, globe is ok. BUT! If internet services ang pinaguusapan? Magsisi ka if kukuha ka ng Globe Tattoo, GLobe Visibility or Globe broadband as your internet service provider.

I warned you.

Hi! I'm too is a Globe Visibility subscriber for a year now and had problems with image compression. In the past there are solutions for this like changing your default user agent, using DNS other than Globe's, using tunneling software like toonel (not sure bout the spelling). But sadly today, October 17, 2009, Globe implemented a new way of compressing their images. They've updated it somehow that the above solutions won't work anymore. Even pressing CTRL-F5 or ALT-F5 don't work anymore.

Now is the time for us to fight for our right! I have made a Cause on facebook regarding this in order for Globe to stop their image compression "service"! Here's the link:

Sadly, the compression idea would've been ok had it been announced beforehand so us consumers could do something about it.

Globe hiding behind the notion that us consumers wouldn't notice is just plain disrespectful and outright stupid.

What they should've done is announce they installed compression, and IF WILLING, sold a software to be installed on our computers to bypass this proxy of theirs. Even if it was a pretty hefty sum for a one time purchase, I would probably buy it if it meant better image quality and faster speeds.

Eitherway, Globe chose the coward's way of doing business. Tsk tsk tsk.

Oh yeah, the captcha DOES show images, but since they are "proxied", the one you actually see is already incorrect.
