Why was India attacked by terrorists? (A blogger was blogging it live as it happens!)

The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel - First few hours

I am currently watching the Tah Mahal palace hotel live from BBC. It is on fire and the first floor is engulfed in flames. Some say that the fire brigade has no plans to control the fire because they will use that to flush the terrorists out. In my personal opinion, that would be seen as a defeat for the Indian Comandos and Police. The said terrorist responsible for the attack sent out warnings before the attack.

According to a terror analyst person (I can't recall his name). India was attacked because they lack in security, their intelligence agency is understaffed, they have poor police coordination and their anti-terror campaigns and training in inadequate. (Manila, heads-up!) He also said that this is a more sophisticated attack compared to the 9-11.

Uday Bhaskar, former director, Institute of Defence Studies, said: "Clearly, there has been a certain inadequacy or a lapse in security arrangements. The fact that this particular group - whether it is one group or more than one group - could carry and transport arms, explosives in this manner into these hotels, and other parts does suggest a breach. ... this is the reason I also think there may have been some degree of local involvement."
The Deccan Mujahideen claimed responsibility for this attack in Mumbai but clearly, the plot and strategies executed were clearly straight out from the Al Aqaeda play book. Later on, they found out that there is a web network between Al Qaeda and this Deccan Mujahideen. What the terrorists in India did first was kill the police personnels in a police station and got their uniforms. They wore it and drove of in a police vehicle to execute their higly coordinated attacks.

They keep on saying that there is only one gunmen left. That is highly unlikely because if that is the case, it would have ended as early as Friday night. It wouldn't reach Saturday morning anymore. Those terrorists might have setup booby traps in rooms that would explode when open that is why the India Police thinks that after the explosion, the gunman vanishes.

A blogger from India blogs LIVE about the Mumbai attacks.

The said blogger also uploaded photos in Flickr.

If they lack in security, what more Manila, Philippines? I can't get it off my mind right now. We here in Manila are possible to be attacked using the same tactics.

I think it's better not to go to malls first these Christmas season.
