For the benefit of those who doesn't know, BRAVIA simply means:
B.R.A.V.I.A. > Best Resolution Audio Video Integrated Architecture

Given the current situations and factors in the world today, Sony's direction can be summarized in 2 commitment statements.
1) Product excellence through unique technological breakthroughs.
2) Responsible corporate citizenship through ethical practices and environmental responsiveness.
Given that, Sony embraces the route of innovation!

Some facts people should know:
* Sony pioneered the use of LED technology in backlighting LCD televisions as early as 2004 with the release of the first generation RGB LED Backlit LCD TV - the QUALIA 005 - in Japan.

* The 2nd generation Triluminous RGB LED Backlit LCD, the BRAVIA 70X350 was launched worldwide in 2007.

* Sony also introduced the World’s First OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) TV – the 11-inch XEL-1. In terms of illumination, OLED TV differs from an LCD TV as it requires no backlight since its panel is light emitting. As thin as 3mm, this organic panel has the thickness of three stacked credit cards!

For those with a keen sense of uncluttered elegance, the BRAVIA 1080 wireless technology ensures that the BRAVIA ZX1 is not obscured by wires or other devices. Instead, the innovative system utilises a groundbreaking, high-speed wireless connection capable of real time transmission of HD signals to the ZX1.

Sony Z450

The Sony Bravia Z450 is using the world’s First Motionflow 240Hz. Using a set-up inspired by the rush of outdoor excitement and adventure, Sony showed how the Motionflow 240Hz algorithm quadruples the number of frames rate per second by interpolating three new frames to reduce the motion blur often seen in fast-paced sports and action programs.

The result is total precision and smoothness.
Through a highly accurate motion algorithm coming from its Motionflow chip, the Z450 series is able to reduce image blur and judder, producing the smoothest pictures ever.

BRAVIA WE5: The World’s Greenest HD TV

These green technologies are all demonstrated by the new BRAVIA WE5 LCD TV. The BRAVIA WE5 is integrated with the Hot Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (HCFL) Backlight, which uses up to 40% less energy when compared to conventional CCFL LCD TVs. It senses if a viewer is present or not in the room, the Intelligent Presence Sensor function is able to temporarily turn off the TV picture to instantly reduce power consumption by over 40%. Assuming the ability of a computer standby mode, the Presence Sensor can be set to shift Picture On mode to Picture Off mode after a certain period of time, such as 30 minutes.

An Ambient Light Sensor technology also found in the new BRAVIA models W550, V550, S550 automatically adjust picture settings based on the viewing environment to maintain optimal brightness and conserve energy. Meanwhile, a pre-set Eco setting allows users to watch TV at minimal energy consumption.
