Kuala Lumpur Amazing Race-Type City Tour

This will be my first time to fly out using Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA). It was easier than I thought. We left QC early and arrived quite early at DMIA for us not to be late for our flight. It took us less than 2 hours to reach DMIA.

Same process.. check-in, pay travel tax, pay airport fee, pass immigration then wait. Like NAIA terminal 3, there was also a Jamaican Patties store (right side of the photo above) inside the DMIA waiting area. That's what I had while waiting for our flight.

This was one of the few relaxed times we had on the entire trip because upon landing in Malaysia, everything will be fast paced with only a little space for mistakes. Our flight to Melbourne was 1030pm. We cleared immigration around 430pm. Factoring in the 2 hour travel time to and fro the LCCT to KL city, we only have an hour max in the city.

Upon landing in Malaysia LCCT airport, we immediately met our Singaporean friend then left our luggages in the baggage counter (photo above). It was not cheap as you have to pay a fee per luggage and depending on your luggage size. We paid RM 188 for our bags (around 6 pcs). Expensive!

While some of us exchanged currencies, others booked a bus to the city. It was around an hour bus ride from the LCCT airport to Kuala Lumpur city and each of us paid RM18. As planned, we reach Petronas Tower on time. We didn't have time to roam the mall and had a quick dinner inside the KLCC food court area. Left KLCC around 715 already!!!

 Petronas Twin Towers KL, Malaysia

 KLCC Mall

Teh Tarik - RM2.40 each

Char Siew Noodles - RM 9.50

 Kuala Lumpur rush hour traffic - view from a cab

After the no-time-to-chew-just-swallow dinner, took a dash to the airport via a cab. The cab driver exceeded the 100kph speed limit because he knew how late we were. Reach the LCCT airport around 815pm! Just enough time to do the airport routine and our nightly routines (removed contact lens/ freshen up) in the airport to be ready for a *fingers crossed* good sleep in the plane enroute to Melbourne.

Air Asia X Food. Pasta Ratatouille - RM 13.00

Ate in the plane (again) and had a good rest because the next day would bring forth more challenges to us (e.g. driving a right hand drive vehicle on the left side of the road for the first time among others.)

The last time I was here was several years back. I'm pretty sure that I'll be back.See you again KL!

@Anon,

It was supposed to be a transit flight so it was pretty okay to experience an amazing race type of tour. Will go back there to stay longer. :)
