3 Reminders for a Corporate Family Day

I'll put in EXL Service Philippines as an example since they had their 3rd family day last October 7. They have a pretty big population of employees, currently at 1,800, and they plan to open new offices around the metro and even in Cebu. They are an outsourcing provider in insurance, travel, transportation, healthcare, financial industries and utilities.


Here are reminders for your Corporate Family Day:

1) Get a sponsor
For EXL, they allowed each employee to bring 3 family members. The actual attendees that day reached over 3,000 people. The drink sponsor for that day was Pepsi who donated 100 cases of drinks. Imagine the reach and brand recall the brand will receive from that event. If you have a smaller group of people, you can go look for a very targeted product that your sponsor will benefit from. You can use ask them to sponsor an activity and they can provide some prizes.

2) Food must be easy to eat and good for everyone.
Fastfood is the way to go! Packed lunches are a great alternative too since you usually can eat while standing. For their family day, they had pork & chicken barbecue from Inengs BBQ and the kids were very happy with their Chicken & Spaghetti meals from Jollibee. It was a good balance as kids usually enjoy food from McDonalds or Jollibee rather than meals from restaurants like Inengs. Conversely, adults might enjoy inengs more over Jollibee.

3) Family Activity Ideas
- Bouncy house (Inflatable house)
- Eating contest (They had burger eating contest)
- Dance contest (Impromptu or rehearsed)
- Band playing (For everyone, to set the mood)
- Basketball game (Team sports)

Family days are important because it shows your customers and clients that you make time and value your employees. This will also make them more loyal to you as they feel your effort to connect with them even just for a day.
