Traveling the World through Google Maps

Who want's to see more of the world without actually costing you much money? You just need a computer and an internet connection.

Just October last year, Google has started to work on a project that will provide users with the most comprehensive and accurate easy-to-use map across the globe. Google has chosen one of the most spectacular and remote natural wonders to try with its newest camera platform – Grand Canyon.

Street View Trekker was used to collect and collate 360-degree images which have been processed and stitched together to become panoramics. This collection includes more than 9,500 panoramas from trails along the nearby Meteor Crater and the south rim of Grand Canyon.

Grand Canyon -- As clear as the day
Internet users can now experience this magnificent wonder by the comforts of their home with Google Maps. They can virtually explore the breathtaking scenic views that were used to be accessible only by foot. Simply go to Google Maps and search for Grand Canyon, once you’ve zoomed in, you can drag the orange pegman icon into the map and drop it onto any blue highlighted area. You can now navigate around and check the imagery in 360-degrees.

Just drag the guy to the blue spots
I'm actually using this feature to plot out directions and to familiarize myself with the area before actually arriving there. You can look around the area using Google maps so by the time you're already there, you'll save time and energy. This is one of the most useful tools Google has made among many others.

See the world more via Google maps!
