Family Holiday Favourites

Whatever type of family holiday you're looking for, the package holiday market is home to a fantastic range of getaways to suit holidaymakers of all ages. Some of the best family holidays can be found in European waters. Think back, and some of your best holiday memories were probably spent splashing in warm Mediterranean waters, or building sandcastles on a Spanish beach.

Mainland Spain continues to draw in sun-seeking families, and the outlying Spanish islands are also a huge hit. The island of Majorca is a fantastic option as it offers a wonderful Mediterranean escape with plenty of diversity. For an energetic experience filled with non-stop activities, try the resort of Alcudia or lively Palma Nova, located just a short distance from Majorca's capital, Palma. For something a little quieter, head for lovely Cala D'Or on the south coast, or try the bright, popular beach resort of Cala Millor.

The Greek Islands are an obvious contender for best family holidays. Corfu is a cracking summer hotspot and it boasts a superb water park near Agios Ioannis - perfect for little thrill-seekers. Sidari is another popular Corfu resort, and it offers plenty of local activities for kids as well as a pulsing nightlife for older holidaymakers.

Further afield, there's no denying that some of the best family holidays can be found in lovely Florida. A prime family favourite, holidays in Florida have got it all - sunshine, endless local attractions, great entertainment and stunning natural scenery. The theme parks are the obvious attraction, and with such world-famous sites as Disney, SeaWorld and Universal Studios, it's really no surprise. Of course there are plenty of other sights too - such as the fantastic Kennedy Space Center and the sprawling, swampy Everglades. The beach also has star appeal, with plenty of great snorkelling opportunities, watersports and more than a few beautiful places to lay your towel.

There are so many family holiday hotspots out there - it's just a matter of finding your favourite.
