#Smart5G LTE-Advance: How Fast Can it Go?

Last year, we've got news that Smart was already testing their 5G LTE-Advance network here in the Philippines. Yesterday, tech and news sites announced that Smart has already activated their 5G LTE Advance network. In the photo, you can see an actual speed test done by Smart executives. The said speed test reached over 200 mbps.

According to the Press Release,
LTE-A, also referred to as ‘5G’ by reports on leading global mobile operators AT&T and T-Mobile, delivers data from between 100 megabits per second (mbps) to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps), or ten times faster than 3G services and more than twice as fast as 4G services.

By firing up LTE-A technology on its network, Smart joins only a handful of carriers around the world with an LTE-A network, along with leading mobile operators in South Korea, United States, Singapore, Australia, and Hong Kong.
I love the healthy competition our telcos have. One says they've upgraded and the other announced a better network technology. It all boils down to one thing. Can they deliver? I'm very interested in this and I am hoping that I can try what the LTE-A can do and tell you how fast it REALLY can go.

For the meantime, I'm thinking of doing another series of speed test from both networks. Thinking of including Sun as well in the comparison. I've done a series of these speed test before in multiple occasions. Let's see if the service improved on all these networks.
