Wife Corner: Sundate at the Bunny Baker

Our Sundays are usually spent with families but last Sunday, husband and I were able to have our quick date after going to the grocery.  Since we passed by Hemady Square, we decided to park and head to the Bunny Baker for a quick snack.

Located at the 2nd level, the quickest way to get there is via elevator (but you can always use the stairs to burn more calories).
When exiting the elevator, you will see the Bunny Baker to your left
What you will notice upon entering is the place is properly lighted (both natural and artificial) and it's very warm and cozy - perfect for kids and kids at heart. You will also notice that the bunny ambiance everywhere.

Disney tsum tsum!
My husband was hungry so he decided to order pasta while I on the other hand wanted to eat something lighter. Below are the food that we ordered:

Creamy Pesto - Php 275.00
Because of the price, I was expecting a bit more on the serving of their creamy pesto.  Just two days ago we ate at La Cereperie and my husband ordered their creamy pesto too. The serving there is way bigger and both costs the same. I hope they do some improvement on the taste so that the dish will be worth the price.

The Bunny Cristo - Php 220.00
I wasn't expecting much on the Bunny Cristo since it was just your basic breakfast sandwich (bread, cheese, ham, dressing) but this was the highlight of our snack. It was just too yummy and the raspberry preserve made it even better! It's definitely a must try!

Salted Caramel Gelato - Php 110.00
Since gelato is really expensive (it costs around 2euro for a scoop in Italy), we were expecting it to costs more but was surprised that for Php 110, the serving was huge enough to be shared and enjoyed by both my husband and I. Salted caramel was a good choice, we loved every single bit of it. My husband, who is not a fan of ice cream, had quite a few spoons of it.

Just like La Creperie, they do have the social media marketing too. All you need to do is follow the instructions and they will be giving you a pink lemonade for free! They have a free wifi by the way, so you could upload and immediately claim your drink!

We will definitely come back to try more of their gelato and their signature Skilletor and Ooey Goey plated desserts!

Twister in New Manila / Betty Go Belmonte Area [Photos and Video]

I thought it was over last night. I was stranded in Puregold Qi Central until closing time and the flood waters along Araneta avenue and E. Rodriguez hasn't subsided. Really tired and wanting to go home, I just braved the waters and crossed the riverlike road. It reached 3/4 of the tires but thank God, everything was okay.

This morning, I let my people go home early because I'm afraid we might get stranded again. It was a good call in my opinion as rains worsened around lunch time.

Reaching New Manila, I experienced such strong winds I never experienced before. I decided to video record it because the winds were really strong. Scary strong.

Here's the video:

Violence always erupts during demolition.

You can almost equate shanties to the Philippines. It's everywhere. The government cannot do anything about it.

Trouble erupted Thursday morning when informal settlers protested the dismantling of their shanties on a privately owned land in New Manila, Quezon City.

Someone else owns this land. He has the right. The owner has the right. although, ome 300 residents were up in arms, claiming that they have been regularly paying rent in exchange for their stay in the property.

Past government officials with high positions was visible in that area when it happend. It was expected. This is how politics work here in the Philippines.

Boracay Mansion: QC's property

We asked the last known owners to participate in the auction or to pay their tax arrears amounting to P1.7 million in 2005. When nobody bought it, the city government (became its owner). The law allows for a one year period for the owners to redeem the same but two years had passed and nobody moved to reclaim it," Endriga said.

Endriga said owners of the mansion could have redeemed the property if they managed to settle its obligations of P1.292,842 in taxes plus an additional P440,741.72 in penalties amounting to a total of P1,733,584.

Endriga earlier said the Boracay mansion, which was registered to St. Peter Holdings Corp., has been on their delinquent list since 2000. He added that the city treasurer's office has sent notices to St. Peter Holdings Corp. with a mailing address at Strata 100 building in Ortigas Center in Pasig City, but the office was already abandoned.
