Kids are affected by political happenings.

JC and Abe are two boys who have been close friends since they were in the third grade.

The thing is, JC is an Abalos, while Abe is a Lozada.

But as the tales of bribery and backroom deals become complicated, Abalos is most hurt by the fact that he is becoming more and more distant from his friend Abe, the son of the Senate probe’s latest resource person linking his grandfather to the mess.

JC's anger made him sick after he stayed up late one night writing a letter to the LSGH administration.

The letter was asking the school administration not to take sides in the issue.

"Isn't it that we were taught in the Christian Living subject values such as... "do not persecute others for you shall be persecuted?" the letter read.

"Please stop condemning and stop dictating to the students who should we pray for... I am writing this to speak for those who believe that every child of God should be treated with equality," the letter continued.

After the letter was sent to the school, the LSGH administration then warned teachers to be careful in making statements about the bribery scandal.

"Ang sinabi ko lang po sa mga principal at mga administrator namin, pati na itong mga teachers, na dapat maging maingat sila kung ano man ang pinag-uusapan. So ,siguro, 'wag na nating [isama] yung mga bata dito" said Belleza.

("I said to the principals and administrators, and even the teachers, they should be careful in discussing anything. So I think we should not involve the children in this.")

Because the two friends have not yet seen each other personally in weeks - the Lozada family has kept a low profile since their father came out with his statements in public - Abalos hopes that both of them would stay out of the issue to preserve their friendship.

"Abe, I'm not condemning your father for doing anything, because the same way I think that you will not also condemn my grandfather for doing anything. So I wish that both of us would not do anything to get involved" said Abalos.
