In a report just released a few days ago, Huawei is seen as part of the top 4 world's largest smartphone makers in Q4 of 2014. It has retained that spot since Q4 of 2013 but in terms of number, they have increased shipments from Q4 of 2013 at 16.6 million units to 74.1 million units on Q4 of 2014! Such a huge increase that Samsung admitted that Huawei is among the toughest competition they have other than Apple and the upcoming rising giant, Xiaomi.
One of their latest release last Q4 of 2014 was the Huawei Ascend Mate7. A very classy looking phone that is sleek, slim and a body made mostly out of metal. It also has a huge display at 6" and is considered already as a phablet. As huge as the screen is, it has an almost invisible bezel making the size more compact compared to other 6" screen smartphones (83% screen to body ratio and 2.9mm narrow bezel).
As for the performance, this unit has a Kirin 925 octracore CPU, Mali-T628 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Check out more of the specs below:

As per last checking, this retails for around 26,000 pesos BUT, Smart is already offering this unit at a subsidized rate starting today, January 30, 2015. Check out their plans below for the Huawei Ascend Mate 7:
for as low as Plan 999+500, you can take home the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 already. The +500 is for the amortization plan of the 12,000 cash out, divided by 24 months at ZERO interest. Computing your total cash out, it would amount to 35,976. If you buy the unit outside, you'd be spending 26,000 on the unit alone. The 35,976 above already comes with Plan 999* for 24 months. It's just like paying 10,000 pesos for the phone.
Plan 999 comes with 5GB of data volume allowance, 99 free SMS and 9 free minutes of calls. 5GB, as I have explained in my other post is more than enough for 90-95% of the people. Check out my other post here: http://www.cheftonio.com/2015/01/smart-turbo-plans-turbo-plus-turbo-max-package.html
