SUBIC BAY Freeport: It seems like wherever he goes controversy follows, this time former Comelec commissioner Virgilio Garcillano has been linked with a smuggling attempt after police authorities flagged down a 1999 Porsche Boxter said to have been smuggled out of Subic Bay Freeport a week ago.
But the controversial Comelec commissioner on Monday denied owning the said 1999 Porsche Boxter that was confiscated by the Olongapo Police on Friday morning at Barangay Cabalan.
“I don’t know anything about that Porsche, I’m not engaged in illegal activities and I have no connections here,” Garciliano told the Manila Times.
His name was allegedly dragged in the smuggling try when the driver of the said Porsche which was later identified as a certain 19-year-old Karlo Gineta told police that the vehicle belonged to Garcillano.
