Political killings on the rise. again.


Just last May, tons of political related killings were recorded in the Philippines. Now, October, A few days until the SK elections, 10 election related deaths has been recorded since a nationwide gun ban was imposed.

he PNP said that as of October 21, a total of three incumbent barangay officials and two candidates have been killed. Four civilians and a government official were listed as among those killed as a result of the poll violence.

The PNP added that since September 29, it has recorded 13 cases of election-related violence.

The PNP also said 143 firearms without permits have been seized since the imposition of the gun ban. Of this number, 47 are high-powered firearms while the rest are pistols and other types of handguns.

It added that 150 gun ban violators have been arrested since September 29. Five of the violators are policemen, one is a soldier while the rest are civilians. A total of 44 cases against the violators have been filed in court.
