MMDA Versus Buses

The MMDA impounded at least 140 colorum buses last Monday as it prepared to launch a fully automated system of dispatching buses in Metro Manila. The MMDA leadership was criticized after its men spray-painted the impounded vehicles with the words "colorum" and "out-of-line."

On the other hand, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board said the spray-painting of colorum vehicles is not among the penalties prescribed to colorum vehicles.

The Metro Manila Development Authority on Wednesday said it is transferring a total of 90 impounded "colorum" buses from its impounding area in White Plains Subdivision in Quezon City to an impounding area in Las PiƱas.

I agree with MMDA. What better way can the MMDA do to let those "Colorum" buses know the real message of their campaign. This is what Philippines lack. A man who can go over tons of people just to implement the real law.

To LTFRB, ok, we might agree that the spray painting of buses is kind of "not in the law". But, can you guys over at LTFRB suggest of a better way to implement it?

I guess not. You guys are the one giving franchises and you cannot even control them.

Too bad.
