Halal Certified Food listing online

Halal is Arabic for lawful or permitted. It is also used for food that is acceptable according to Islamic law. With numerous food products and brands, it can get confusing which meet the requirements from those that do not.

A little tip from the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (2010) on what are forbidden by the Qu’ran:
•    Swine/Pork and its by-products
•    Animals improperly slaughtered or dead before slaughtering
•    Alcoholic drinks and intoxicants
•    Carnivorous animals, birds of prey and certain other animals
•    Foods contaminated with any of the above products

A list of Halal Certified products can now be seen in  www.halalcertifiedfood.com . This website aims to provide more information to those who are confused about what brands and types of food would be acceptable. For more information, the site also links up to the company websites themselves for further information and to avoid confusion, photos from the respective companies themselves are shown.

The list of food products that are acceptable are also split into categories for easier searching and companies themselves are able to submit their product information and, if found to be halal certified food, are added to the list.

This website can serve as guidance for those who are hesitant in purchasing products or ordering food. The list is constantly updated with new companies that have passed the evaluation.
