Chinese New Year's Resolution

Just a few days before new year, I wrote an article about my 2011 new year's resolution. Now that it's already January, let me add a little more to the list. Well, I now make this my "Chinese New Year's Resolution".

Every year, I make it a point to learn a new thing or two. This helps me explore things that I myself am not aware of. Aside from gaining additional knowledge, I also gain more friends. Last year, I studied Real Estate Management for a term to get a taste of the real estate business in the Philippines.

CNYR #1 - Learn new things. Never stop learning.

This year, I've already enrolled myself in Photography. My classes already started. You know what? I've been taking photographs for more than 2 years already and It's just now that I fully learn to use my camera. Talk about wasted shots for that span of time! I decided a little bit too late already.

My tip: As soon as you get a new DSLR, shoot for a month or 2 then enroll yourself in basic photography lessons. If you've mastered your camera already, enroll in the more advanced classes.

Aside from that, I plan to get diving lessons among other lessons this 2011. Will also blog about it as they happen.

Talking about classes, this is also where I gain new friends. Some of my close friends remain close to me even without constant communication. It's like you haven't seen each other for months and when you see each other again, it's all the same. With the rapid improvement of technology, communicating has never been as easy. This is where I put my second Chinese New Year's  Resolution.

CNYR #2 - Be in constant communication with friends.

Before, it's just not practical to communicate with friends abroad because of the high cost of long distance phone bills. Come mid-2000, Internet made it all possible and made more affordable because of the competing telcos but, they ain't that fast at that time. Now, we are talking about the ultimate in mobile convenience.

Imagine that you are in you're car, stuck in traffic. You simply whip out your laptop with your Globe tattoo super stick and instantly, you can connect to the internet. Why waste time doing nothing while stuck on traffic (provided you're not driving)? You can chat, surf and even do work because of this instant mobile internet convenience.

It just keeps getting better and better. Late last year, Mobile WiFi's spread like wildfire all over town and of course, since I'm also trying to be always connected, I got one. Now, when stuck in traffic, everyone in the car can connect to the internet using the MyFi! Mobile Internet made more and more faster yet, very affordable!

Connecting to friends is easier now.. but be careful of those who take advantage of your goodness to them.

CNYR #3 - Choose whom to trust.

http://www.sxc.hu/pic/m/e/ea/eastop/979763_hope.jpg

This third resolution of mine is short but solid. For those who don't know me much, I'm a person who easily trusts someone. I might not trust some products or theories I hear unless I see proof, but when it comes to people-to-people relationship, that's my weak point. This is something I have to learn this year -- not to trust those who can't be trusted because not all who appears as friends are REAL.

So there! Chinese New Year is just around the corner. Aside from your New Year's resolution, have you made another set (they are made to be broken? I hope not) for Chinese New Year?

Share yours on the comment section below! :)
