Central Bank of the Philippines has been slowly releasing the new Philippine notes slowly and some banks are hesitant on releasing them -- making it in-demand as of the moment. Don't worry, it'll be everywhere in a few more months.
I bet most people who has the new Philippine bills doesn't even want to use them just yet, specially the limited edition 200-peso, with the UST logo on it. A couple of days ago, I've heard some people say that ATMs in DLSU-Manila has got a numerous amount of these limited edition bills. Eh, Why have UST bills in DLSU ATMs?
Below are some of the photos I took of the new Philippine notes:
New 500 Peso bill: Cory Aquino and Ninoy Aquino
The new Philippine 500 Peso bill featuring the Blue-Naped parrot and the Puerto Princessa Subterannean River
Some nice watermark in the 500-peso bill
Back portion of the 200-peso bill featuring the Philippine Tarsier and Chocolate Hills in Bohol
Front portion of the 1000-peso bill: Jose Abad Santos, Vicente Lim, Josefa Llanes Escoda
Back portion of the 1000-peso bill: Whale Shark and Mayon Volcano
So, what do you think of the new Philippine notes released early 2011? It looks like a bit euro-ish to me but nice. Time to keep some of those old crunchy notes as they'll be a collectors item a few more decades from now.

Cool! I have already seen the 20, 50, 100, and 200 Peso bills. They look very nice and classy. Sadly, I have yet to own a new Peso bill.
i think they might release those bills slowly..if we young ones should have the hang of it, i think it would take a while for our parents and grandparents to get used to it..
@jasetiojanco,
In a few more months time, it'll be everywhere in the Metro. Banks are still releasing the old bills first. (I think)
@angela,
yup. When I first saw it, It felt like a foreign currency to me. Until now, it feels the same way because we rarely see it.
You better hold on to them. I heard that the BSP is planning to re-issue the new bills with corrections.
I noticed that the obverse side is independently strong in visual character, but the reverse is very, very weak, and somewhat visually scattered. Just sayin'...
