Last week, I attended an event and got to know the 5 finalists for Pharmaton's MVP Unleashed Challenge. We actually got to know the challengers better and their stories behind. Before that, I didn't even know that we had that many sports available in the Philippines.
One of the supposedly finalists got injured the last minute and the next in line was lucky to be able to join to replace him. Here's a short profile of each of the Pharmaton MVP Unleashed challengers for your guidance:
(Later, you'll know why you need to read about them. Hint: You can win loads of cash as a home buddy)
Anthony Cuerpo
Restaurateur by profession. In his early days, he already loved sports but stopped at one time. He got into cgs which became a bad habit but eventually prevailed against in his battle against nicotine. Being the oldest amongst the challengers, he still is confident that he can beat other challengers half his age. This is his biggest race to date and he hopes to finish each leg under his best time possible.
TJ Isla
An HR practitioner in a TV station media company. He's into adventure racing, mountaineering, rock climbing, surfing and marathon. His dream is to qualify in the Ironman World Championship. He loves to relax and spend time with his wife and their pet dogs.
Benson Martinez
Full-time dentist. He is running the race for his good friend and mentor Miguel Lopez (Injured), Outdoors is his passion. Reaching the summit gives him a different high. This also allows him to commune with nature and appreciate God's creation. He is also into triathlons and adventure races. The key to winning for him is the perseverance, patience and dedication.
Popo Remigio
She has her eye set on winning this Pharmaton challenge representing the moms! (Girl power!) A full-time mom and fitness instructor. She graduated from UP and is also an instructor for swimming and indoor cycling.
Monica Torres
Don't let looks deceive you. Behind the looks hides a strength that even seasoned male athletes are wary of. Also an alumna of UP College of Human Kinetics, she is a late bloomer in terms of sports as she only started last 2008. Married to a equally athletic man, they met each other through sports.
After narrating their own stories, we got to ask some questions back and one blogger asked a very interesting question. Why do this race and what sets this apart from other races? The brand manager of Pharmaton gave us a very clear answer which stuck on my mind.
Pharmaton contains a unique Ginseng G115. This is proven to energize both mind and body. This is based on studies and research done for years and thus, there's no better way to test this than to do a month-long race to prove the effects of this.Sorry as I wasn't able to transcribe the exact words she said. This challenge will start on March 5,2011 and will last for 30 arduous days spanning the entire Philippines. Pharmaton MVP Unleashed Challengers champion can win 500,000 pesos while the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th places will receive 250,000, 150,000, 100,000 and 50,000 pesos respectively.
This Pharmaton MVP Unleashed Challenge highlights Pharmaton's commitment to elevate its consumers' overall well being and it hopes to inspire more people to live their lives to the fullest through a balance of physical aptitude and mental sharpness.
How can you win?
Pharmaton extended the competition among its consumers. They call this the home buddy promo.
