Samsung Smart TV Launched - Internet TV with App Store

Last April 7, 2011, Samsung launched their Smart TV -- An innovative Television that will revolutionize the way you watch TV.

The Samsung D8000 is a  LCD television which includes Smart TV features such as web browsing, apps, 3D playback and video-on-demand.

This new LCD Internet TV features a 5mm bezel that looks very sleek and is covered in a brushed metal finish.


Some of the notable features include:
* Web Browsing - Full web browsing experience
* Samsung Apps - World's first HDTV application store
* Search All - Searches your media storage, mobile devices, networked computers and the internet, as well as online movie streaming support (Not yet available in the Philippines)
* Your Movies - Delivers recommendations based on a user’s viewing history (Recommendation Engine)
* 3D plus 2D to 3D conversion

This comes with a Television remote like any other TV to navigate around the many features of the TV, but the great thing about this is, you can use your mobile devices as well as Apple iPhone, iPad and Galaxy Tab to control the TV over WiFi. 2 remotes can connect at the same time so you and your wife can have one control each. Clean and easy to understand buttons

According to Jan Roman - Samsung product manager, this is the old app in the Apple app store they developed for their first ever internet TV. Currently, they are developing the new app for this newly launched tv.

You can chat, video conference and surf the web while watching TV! Be connected in your various social media accounts without ever missing anything while watching TV! Skype calls, updates and messages will pop-up while you watch TV and you'll never miss a thing from now on. Even when surfing the web, you can watch TV as there is a picture-in-picture feature.

Smart Hub Explained

Smart Hub is the interface to all of Samsung’s Smart TV features. From the Smart Hub you can easily access the Search All feature, see movie and app recommendations, open the Web Browser or launch all the apps your have downloaded to your TV.
