The Lake Hotel Tagaytay: Room with the Best View in Tagaytay

Tagaytay is one of the nearest getaway location when you're living in the capital of the Philippines, Manila. With just an hour or so of travel, you can experience a drastic change of temperature in some months! Tagaytay can be as cold as around 20 Celsius or lower during December months. During summer, it's also a popular go-to place because of its low humidity and sub-30c temperature at nights. Like now, in Manila, you'll be getting around 32c but in Tagaytay, you'll get around 28c. The "real-feel" though is the biggest difference. In Tagaytay, real feel at 28c is 33c and in Manila, real feel at 32c is 37c! Now, that's scorching hot!

We stayed at The Lake Hotel in Tagaytay for a weekend getaway. Most would usually choose a Saturday - Sunday overnight but we chose a Sunday - Monday one so there would be less people the next day (less traffic). Went up there on a Sunday and reached the hotel in just around 1 hour plus coming from Quezon City. I love to drive and that day, driving up there itself was a pleasurable experience in itself.

When we reached Lake Hotel I love how attentive and alert their security guards are. They would immediately assist you to a spot and check-in was a breeze too! It just took us less than 5 minutes. We went to our room after because we were excited to check out our one bedroom suite and we instantly fell in love with our suite as soon as we entered the room! It was located at the farthest end of the hallway but the view was spectacular as we could see Taal Lake and the volcano itself, in unobstructed panoramic view, on our private balcony! It was literally a postcard-like photo. (The photo at the start of this blog is taken from our balcony)

There was just the two of us and the room was just huge! There's a dining area, living room and a separate bedroom with bathroom! Another cool thing was the balcony as it was a corner room, so was the balcony! It has outdoor furniture also. Complimentary water bottles, coffee and tea sachets are also provided. They also have a information card there illustrating the importance of water and the repair times of our body’s organs. These reminders were placed strategically on places that you would never miss so that guests are reminded of our body repair times.

Menus from their restaurants and steakhouse (Steaktown, right outside the hotel) are also made available so you can enjoy the suite and yummy dinner without having to go out. One thing that would need improvement is their water system as it usually takes a while for their water to become hot.

Since the hotel’s location is very near the trees and lush trees down by the cliffs, there are moths present during the evening. Here's one of the shots I took that night:
Star trails at Tagaytay
The next morning, we had a set breakfast and it was just okay. We had a choice between Continental, American and Filipino breakfast and since both my wife and I love to eat rice, we chose the Filipino menu.  I decided to get tapa with sunny side up, garlic rice with “atchara,” while my wife decided to get toccino with scrambled eggs, garlic rice, and “atchara”.

Here are the other areas of the hotel:
From the parking, going down to the lobby. Take the stairs or...
...the elderly/ PWD friendly ramp.
Lounge area by the lobby
Indoor pool by the lobby
A small shop inside the hotel selling basic necessities
Even though we only stayed there for a night, it already felt like home and we were really able to experience a relaxing weekend getaway not too far from the metro, yet very near nature. So far, The Lake hotel in Tagaytay has the room with the best view in Tagaytay!
