When my uncle and cousin visited Manila from Hong Kong, we wanted to bring them to a different restaurant and not the usual traditional Chinese food as we know they have been very fed up with those in Hong Kong.
My sister recommended "Relish" that's just located near Tomas Morato area as they serve unique dishes and had a great ambiance that our guests would definitely love. Since majority of us hasn't tried Relish yet, we decided to try it out. She made reservations to make sure that they can accommodate us without queuing up.
Parking is a bit of a challenge as there are limited slots - it is suggested that you come early to be able to park right in front of the restaurant although parking by the street is also possible. You wouldn't miss this establishment when you reach Scout Limbaga Street as the exterior structure of the restaurant is one-of-a-kind and the light from their logo is bright enough to be noticed even from afar.
We were first seated at the ground floor where they combined long tables with long sofas (and since we have parents and grand mom with us), they realized elders may have difficulty moving around with such arrangement and they were kind enough to consider our request and opened the second level for us.
The upper level was much different as the area was more spacious - full of French inspired stuff and the interiors reminded me of an afternoon tea party. Their concept was similar to that of Laduree - well-lighted, colorful, relaxing interiors that will definitely make you look forward to a good meal with great company.
Nice displays that makes me feel like I'm in a Tea Party! |

Cupcakes anyone? |
Since their staff mentioned that dishes were good for one person, each of us decided to get our own entree. I ordered Lengua with Creamy Mushroom Sauce - I liked the fact that their lengua was in thin slices as it makes you easier to eat. What's good is that you are given an option if you wanted it served with rice or mashed potatoes. There was a small serving of corn included in the dish as well. I think they could still improve on this and make a wider variety of sides that diners could have more options to choose from.
Below are the other foods that the rest of us had:
One of their lamb dishes with mashed potatoes |
Baked Salmon with Mashed Potatoes |
Louisiana Pork Chop in apple sauce with Mashed Potatoes - one of their best-sellers! |
