iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c - Available in the Philippines on November 15, 2013

Been wanting to purchase that shiny new iPhone 5s or maybe sport your favorite team color by getting one of the colorful iPhone 5c? Just a little more wait and you'll be able to get your hands on a subsidized unit! Very soon!

At the stroke of midnight last night, Smart's iPhone 5c and 5s registration pages went live. (Link to the registration page: and it included there the availability date which is on November 15, 2013. It's a month earlier compared to last year's release of the iPhone 5 which happened on December 15, 2012. As a lot of people are saying, Christmas is coming early this year!

Smart has been known to offer competitive plans and packages for subsidized units including iPhone other high end gadgets. What's better is their reliable internet connection and their LTE coverage because currently, Smart has the widest LTE coverage in the Philippines with over 1,000 sites in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Also, they are now testing LTE-A or LTE Advanced, which means that even before others can provide a wide coverage for LTE, they are already one step ahead with their LTE-A.

With regards to the LTE band support on the iPhone that we will get here, it's not yet updated on the Apple website but you can monitor this page for updates:

Currently, resellers are selling the 5s and 5c at a very high price because of the demand but once the official Philippine iPhone 5s and 5c unit arrives, it will drop dramatically. Around 38,500 for both the space gray and the silver white while the gold unit costs almost 3 thousand pesos higher at around 41,000.

A few weeks after the 5s and the 5c was released to the market, a lot of resellers were selling the 5s 16GB gold unit at around 65,000-75,000 pesos! My recommendation now is wait for a bit and check out the very competitive packages Smart has to offer before you over spend on something you can get for a lower price by waiting a few more weeks. A classic example of patience does pay.
