Wedding Checklist

So your wedding is coming up, I'm sure you're stressed and very much in a panic mode right now but there are a few things you can do in advance so that the final stretch to wedding day will be smoother and less stressful for you.

Here are a few things you might miss that needs to be double-checked before the big day comes!
  1. Apply for marriage license as soon as you fall within the 120-day period - Because of the many preparations that needed to be done, this often slips the mind of the couples. In addition, you may be requested to attend marriage seminar too in the city hall when applying for the license so do make time for this.
  2. Choose your AVP photos early - this actually takes a while and couples usually forget this until the last minute when photographers are asking for it already! It is best to compile them early and scan it when you have the time.
  3. Do your pre-nup photoshoot a few months before - we took ours 4 months before, this was because I am very much in love with fireworks so we had to do it during fireworks season. In a way, this was good because I didn't have to worry about pre-nup shoot a few weeks before the wedding day.
  4. Start listing your songs - there are just those songs that suddenly pop up from inside your head or it suddenly get played in the radio. Just make sure that your smartphone is always with you so that you could immediately list them down.
  5. For those who are distributing fabrics to principal sponsors, notify them early and schedule distribution as soon as you have the fabrics as early as 3-4 months prior to the big day. In recent years, modern couples prefer to have dinner with all their principal sponsors in one evening so that they could distribute the fabrics all at the same time - this actually saves them much time and effort.
  6. For couples who have friends and relatives coming from other countries - it is best to notify them at least 6 months in advance as planning their leaves would take a few months' notice and they also need time to watch out for the next seat-sale promo by the airline companies.
  7. If you have honeymoon plans - make sure that you've checked travel expos before finalizing you tour because they offer discounts in many tours/flights/locations whether local or international.
  8. If you have overall coordinators - they are the ones who are normally in-charge of payments to the rest of the suppliers so make sure that you also prepare vouchers for each supplier for your own security and safety.
  9. Because you will be transferring together to a new home - make sure that you have bought your basic needs ready after the wedding day itself. Heading to the grocery the day after the wedding is not a good plan especially when you're about to pack your things for honeymoon!
  10. Always pray and ask for God's guidance - There will be arguments and challenges along the way because there is no such thing as perfect marriage. Putting God at the center of your relationship and learning to understand and communicate with one another are keys to having a successful marriage.
I know there are a lot of things that I have missed so feel free to add more in the comments section below!
