Just a few weeks back, I wrote a post about why I'm excited about the upcoming Pacquaio Mayweather fight and all (here). I also mentioned there you can watch it on your mobile for just 499 pesos via an app. I was thinking now and realized that, even though it's just a subscription in your mobile phone, you can choose to mirror it to your TV! Depending on the Android device you will use, search Google on how to do mirroring. (Click here)
Basically, mirroring is just showing whatever is on your mobile phone and displaying it on your TV. You'll save a lot of money when doing that because it only costs 499 pesos to watch the Pacquiao Mayweather fight via ViewStream (More on ViewStream in a bit) versus other cable pay-per-view subscription that charges 2,500 pesos. Thing is, you need to have a stable and reliable internet connection.
My Smart LTE is reliable enough for streaming videos so I won't have problems with that. Here's a checklist to achieve watching the Pacquiao Mayweather fight live in your TV for only 499 pesos, commercial free!
1) ViewStream app
2) Android device
3) Device / cable for mirroring
4) Your TV
5) Smart, Sun or Talk n Text prepaid or postpaid
If you just want to watch the fight live on your mobile phone, disregard numbers 3 and 4. Number 5 is very important because you will need that to pay for your 499 fee. That's pretty convenient if you ask me because if you are using prepaid, it will just be deducted on your load. For postpaid, it will be charged on your bill. But, I had another dilemma. What if I want to watch but my Smart postpaid is on my iPhone? I'm not sure what the issue is but I was told that this will only work using an Android device.
I had the same problem because I want to charge the fee to my Smart postpaid (in my iPhone) rather than my Sun Postpaid (in my Android). Good news is, there is a work around. Registering to ViewStream is like connecting your mobile account to your LINE or Viber where they will send a registration code which you will use to confirm your account. Same with ViewStream. Once registered, you will receive a code in which you will enter in your ViewStream account.
