Why Philippines Failed

MMDA personnel said protesting residents allegedly hurled stones at them while they were dismantling the shanties.

Arthur Nieva of the MMDA said the shanties were ordered demolished to make way for the agency's flood control project.

Residents appealed to the MMDA to postpone the demolition while they are waiting for the relocation site that was promised to them.

The agency, however, still demolished the shanties. Officials said that the residents have been notified thrice but they still refused to leave the area.

This is the reason why Philippines is not improving at all. This is why almost all our politicians are corrupt. On their campaign period, what they need to do is reach out to the large population of people in poverty (I am not saying this is a bad thing, I am just saying, they are patronizing them just to get their votes. I am sure this activity is not from their hearts.)

They do nothing but promote themselves to Public Utility drivers (Bus, Jeep, Taxi) even when they are already violating traffic laws. This is why Bayani has to implement the Pink Fence in EDSA. Those Bus drivers are like rats inside a boxed maze. without the walls, they will go directly to the cheese disregarding signs (Passengers = Cheese), there are tons of signs in EDSA but as i have said, they are rats and sadly, rats don't know how to read.

Those illegal squatters are another thing. Politicians defend them to get their hearts (and votes, of course.) And this is why plenty of people loves bayani (but more people will hate him.) because, people living in those squatters area will hate him and People who, owns that land, and those who appreciate what he is doing with Metro Manila (For the better, because good economy, more jobs. More jobs, less poverty = less squatters.) Those in the squatters area think only of short term goals. and this is the reason why Philippines has no hope. unless someone is strongly willed enough to control these people and is not afraid of the "masses".

Conclusion: Politicians love the masses because they compose of the larger chunk in our population thus, creating a failing economy. You think GMA is doing a good job because of the increaing peso value? no. Presidents CAN control the value of the peso. One good economic success indicator is the poverty rate.
