Body count climbs as Philippine elections near
Election violence is not new to Filipinos. European commission to the Philippines expressed concerns over
the increasing number of killings. 102 has already been killed and 105 was hurt.
His opponents fear him inside the ring, but Philippine boxing hero Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao doesn't leave
his home on the southern island of Mindanao without 5 armed bodyguards.
Pacman recieved threats when he entered politics. He also says he is not afraid. He is challenging a
political family in gensan. he was also told that there was a 100 million peso contract to assasinate
pacman to prevent him from winning the congressional race in South Cotabato.
In the Philippines, power simply means having a number of bodygaurds and followed by numerous SUVs. Just
like a private army. Some of them are soldiers and thats what is forcing officials to do surprise
headcounts in camps and barracks.

I think it's good for Philippine boxing that Manny lost in the election. He should just focus on his training.
