Why now is the right time to save gas ( A redistributed message to help the campaign against global warming)

One very good reason: Gas is a limited resource.

I remember way back in elementary when my Dad would gas up and a full tank of a regular 1.5 sedan only cost Php 250 more or less. And that sustained a week of driving (house-school-office-school-house). Those were the good old days.

Honda Cars Philippines in partnership with Petron and the Department of Energy challenged motoring journalists and some of the greatest drivers of the country to a race on saving gas through the 2008 Honda Challenge Cup – Media Edition. This was a race not of speed, but of best mileage on a liter of gasoline. The ultimate goal was to save on gas.

The groups were briefed by Honda Cars on the rules and regulation of the race and discussed the many tips on how to save gas.

The Race

On April 25, 2008, Friday, 10 a.m., the groups reported to UCC Cafe for more briefing and to get their race kits containing the map/direction of the race.

There were 2 legs in the competition: The city driving leg – from Petron C5 to Makati to Petron NLEX; and the Highway driving – from Petron NLEX to Petron Clark, Pampanga.
