Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao in Manila, Philippines

The famous Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao is now open to serve you in Manila! Located at the ground floor of Virramall inside the Greenhills compound, it's not the old Crystal Jade in Greenbelt before. This is the same restaurant that's famous in Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Indonesia and other Asian countries.

I heard that this franchise came from Singapore and not from Hong Kong. I'm not sure how that will affect the taste of the food but quality-wise, it's similar to the ones I've eaten in Hong Kong. The Manila version has no Teppanyaki grills though.

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao opened September 13, 2010 in Manila and today is their 6th day of operation. I arrived at Greenhills around 1030am and there was already a line! I had a brief meeting and did some errands before deciding to line up. On the list was several categories. They separated the "For 2 people", "For 3-4 people" and the "For 5-6 and up people". Chances are, the turn-over for the "For 2 people" would be faster. Luckily, it was only me and my brother that day otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to try it out.

Arriving around 11:40am, we lined up until 12:40nn. I was expecting the long wait so despite my growling tummy, I kept my patience.

I got the Noodle with Spicy Chicken (Php 288.00)

I love spicy food and I sure did miss this level of spiciness. Last time I tasted this was back in 2006 when I was in Shanghai.  The combination of the hand pulled noodles and the cold chicken was perfect! Never eaten noodles as good. Hope the quality stays. Make sure to have a glass of water and some tissues ready because it's really spicy! <3

My Brother got the Noodle with Beef in Spicy Soup (Php 288.00)

Shared an order of their famous Steamed Soupy Pork Dumpling "Xiao Long Pao" (Php 158.00)

I've eaten Xiao Long Bao without soup and some, with soup but very oily! This was one of the few Xiao Long Bao in Metro Manila that has soup inside that doesn't have much oil.

For dessert, we had the Red Bean Paste Pancake (Php 128.00)

Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. What a way to end our meal :)

It was also a coincidence that I had a meeting prior to eating at Crystal Jade. Because of that, I had my scanner with me and I scanned a couple of pages. (I'm just beginning to learn to use it so pardon the zigzag lines)

I love Crystal Jade! its so easy to get a seat now on weekdays , maybe becuase theyre now open all day (no more break between 3-5pm). I guess thats why their service has improved as well. The lines are still long on weekends but more manageable now. Their deep fried diced chicken with dried chili is so yummy! Not too spicy but very tasty!:) Also, their deep fried sliced pork with sesame- delicious! Ok ok, I love fried! haha!

Hi! I just wanna ask what do you call item number 413? I'm pretty sure that's what I've ordered last time and I wanted to rave about it to friends but I can't remember what it's called... Thanks. :-)

We has dinner on this restaurant last night.

I liked their xiao long bao and wanton noodles - but all the rest are not good.

The lemon chichen's breading is too thick. The pork ribs tasted like it was cooked by an amateur. The fried rice is also not good.

Chinese restaurants which are a lot cheaper than this can offer much-much better dinning experience.

If you just want to have good xio long bao just make sure you don't order anything else.

Finally, all their food items are overpriced!!!
