Moshi Moshi Handset - Solution to be Radiation Free

I can safely say that this generation finds telecommunication as one of the most basic and essential needs to live. We are taking part in the history of communication and it has already become a basic necessity. I'm sure you're with me when I say that it's like not wearing your underwear when you accidentally leave your mobile phone at home -- something just feels not right.

A decade ago when I first got my mobile phone, the SMS craze, was as fast as a wildfire spreading. It was the era where SMS were still unlimited. Who would've thought that time would come that networks and telcos would charge us per SMS sent. It was the time when we still had time to forward every single message we get to every single contact we have and not worry about the cost of SMS sent. Well, it was also the time when a sim card would cost you around 400 pesos.

Time passed and we were charged per SMS sent. A few more years after, a network dominated the 'Unlimited' space by offering unlimited SMS and Calls. It was the time when a lot of people started using their mobile phones as their landlines. It was also when we were all pissed off with that same network for being almost impossible to call one another because of the clogged network.

Fast forward to 2011, their network improved and their competitor bought them. But hey, I'm not here to talk about the networks. I want to talk about the radiation emitted from our mobile phones. A few weeks back, several big news agencies released news about it.
Telebabad on cell phones can damage your brains and ability to remember things, if experiments on mice are any indication. And no, these were not talking mice. They were exposed to radio frequency radiation, simulating the effects of gossiping on a mobile with an "unlimited" plan.

Recent studies suggest that heavy exposure to electromagnetic radiation emitted by mobile phones and cellular base stations can harm certain segments of the brain. (source)
Another news agency also released a similar article a few days after,
Does cellphone radiation really cause brain tumor? Is it really carcinogenic?

"Para malayo sa cellphone radiation ang utak ng sinumang tumatawag, mabuting gumamit ng earphone," Dr. Eric Tayag, director of the DOH National Epidemiology Center, said. (source)
Whether we believe the news or not, I still say that it's better to be safe than sorry. So, I suggest that it's better to use a headset or a bluetooth device. Bluetooth technology gives you more freedom to move -- Bluetooth is a technology for data communication that uses short-range radio links to replace cables between computers and their connected units.

Question is, what if you are used to holding something? You know how weird it is having a small blinking device sticking out of your ears, right? It's like a hearing aid, only bigger. Wearing a headset, on the other hand gives you limited mobility and a not-so-professional appearance.

Wireless Handset | Moshi Moshi 03
Just recently, a friend of mine imported a bunch of cool-looking devices that solves all this problems -- being radiation free, looking cool yet still maintain a professional appearance, high tech yet not weird.
It's called Moshi Moshi handsets. Moshi Moshi handsets were designed by the French designer David Turpin under a company called Native Union. Did you know that British manufacturer took their name from the idiomatic greeting on what Japanese say when they answer their phone? “Moshi Moshi” (Hello in english).

Wired Handset | Mohi Moshi 02
2 options to choose from. One, wired and two, wireless. The wireless one utilizes the Bluetooth technology. Basically, any mobile phone or device that is Bluetooth enabled can use and connect to a wireless Moshi Moshi Handset. Bluetooth technology operates at such low power levels that it is doubtful that it could cause any sort of harm, and a cell phone has much greater amounts of radiation. From now on, using a Moshi Moshi Handset can liberate you from absorbing all those unwanted emitted radiation, be it in large or small doses.

The wired one uses a 3.5mm jack so, any mobile phone or device using the 3.5mm jack can use a Moshi Moshi Handset.

Moshi Moshi Pop Phone
Since a lot of networks offer unlimited services now, we rarely use our "real" phone now even if we spend most of the time inside our office. With Moshi Moshi, pair it with your cellphone to answer regular calls and it will also work flawlessly as a handset for Skype calls from an iPad or as a set of auxiliary speakers for any Bluetooth-enabled PC. You can also pair it to two different phones, two iPads whatever combination you please. Cool isn’t it?

Wireless Speaker and Phone | Moshi Moshi 04
As much as you love your iPhone, it will be annoying at times when you’re listening to your favorite song then an incoming call on your iPhone disrupts you, which means you need to unplug it from the cradle. Native Union has answered this inconvenience with the Moshi Moshi 04.

These cool-looking contemporary styled handsets have high quality speaker and microphone which allows you to take calls using a traditional handset attached to your mobile phone. The handset is has a gentle, concave shape. It feels natural to hold to. An answering button is located in the centre of the handset that makes it easy to pick up calls. While conversing, it actually makes you forget that you’re talking to somebody on a mobile phone.

If you’re one of those people who worries about cellphone radiation, then worry no more. Native Union researchers said that Moshi Moshi handsets reduce up to 95 percent of the radiation you would absorb through direct use of your mobile phone. Now you’re just provided with more than just physical comfort and a sexy looking device.

Got a weak signal?  This is the time when radiation is the strongest. The fewer bars you have, the more important it is to wear that headset. What I do is, I put the mobile phone near the window, away from all of us and just answer through the Moshi Moshi wireless handsets.

A cell phone's Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), is a measure of the amount of radio frequency (RF) energy absorbed by the body when using the handset. All cell phones emit RF energy and the SAR varies on the handset model. The lower the SAR is the better.

We are all used to having our phones within a moment's grasp. But you better think twice before you keep it near your head, right next to your brain while you're chatting.
