2012 Honda CRV here in the Philippines

I've got word that Honda is launching the new Honda CRV here in the Philippines on April 26, 2012! This is the third vehicle Honda will release this year. They started with the face-lifted Honda City, the all new Honda Civic and now, the new Honda CRV.

Launching will be on April 23! Available colors will be white, black, blue and gray.

First batch of Honda CRV units and pricing
According to my sources, the first batch of the 4th generation Honda CRV will come directly from Japan. It will come in a 4x2 and the 4x4 variant. (4x4 variant with sunroof!) Basing it on the international specs, it will feature a 2.4-liter four cylinder engine with 5-speed automatic transmission. Capable of producing 185 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque, this car is not the fastest among the SUVs available but can do 0-60 in around 9 seconds. Also, it looks like there will be no manual transmission for the first batch. This was also the case for the first generation Honda CRV if I remember it correctly.

I'm sure that the units sold here locally won't be as feature-filled as with the US unit counterpart but it has a lot of awesome features too! The price (not yet exact, they gave me an estimate) won't be also near the old pricing.

Honda CRV 2012 Safety Features
The Honda CRV 2012 also has a good set of safety features including, ABS, stability and traction control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. I always watch these IIHS, NCAP and/or NHTSA videos and I recommend that you also check them out before deciding to purchase a car. Safety should be our primary concern.
