Smart Bro Flexitime: Fully Controllable Mobile Broadband

Smartphones are very common nowadays. I don't know how many times I've started with that statement in my blog. It's that common. It's also very affordable. For as low as 2,500 pesos, you can buy yourself a smartphone in this day and age. It might even become cheaper in the near future. Given that, the need for a more reliable and affordable mobile broadband package is becoming a need as compared to before when it just started where it was more of a luxury to have one.

LTE: Now More Affordable in the Philippines

Third quarter last year, Smart was first to launch the fastest mobile connection ever, the LTE. Smart is also the first to support it in multi-band. Now, they are first in launching the lowest plans for LTE ever -- Plan 1299 and another reason to get it is that Smart has the widest coverage so far! Currently, it has 600 hotspots in 10 cities and over 500 establishments in the Metro! Better offer from the better network!
Check out the current coverage here: Smart LTE Coverage Map

You can either get the plan with a free phone or a free dongle. Choose from:

LTE Dongle/ Wifi Plans
All plans below come with: 42 MBPS connection speed, Expanded coverage in key cities around the Metro, Also compatible with 2G/3G/HSPA/HSPA+ networks with a 24-months lock in period.

Having a fast and reliable internet is important for bloggers like me and more crucial to those who use it for work. Have you ever tried to go online with a full signal bar and you can't even receive 1 byte of data? There was one time I left my Smart Mobile WiFi and I had to borrow one. That one time was crucial because I was going to use it for work and it was time sensitive. I only needed to send out one email, all text, not more than a paragraph.

Here's what I got:

I had to find a restaurant with free WiFi or drive out and try to search for a real signal that is not for display only. Kind of defeats the purpose of it and you have no freedom to use it whenever and wherever.

Well, this is a better approach. At least they're honest. Hindi paasa.
That's just my rant and it's very important for me to have internet access whenever and wherever I need it. Disclaimer, I'm not on a Smart LTE plan. Just their regular 3G and my average speed is not bad at all! Fast and consistent if I may describe it.

I searched Twitter for a Smart LTE speedtest and here's one:
This is a true testimony to what Smart is offering. Imagine if your internet is this fast. Downloading huge files will be a breeze, attending online classes or webinars would be smooth and lag-free and in terms of online gaming (well, this is counter-productive) consistency and speed of your internet is half the battle.

On a #Betternetwork with that speed, what can you do with #SmartLTE to #Livemore?

Multi-band LTE from Smart

Smart puts the Philippines in the map again by launching one of Asia's first commercial LTE service. Launched last August 25, 2012, they are the first LTE service provider in the Philippines. [Read more about: LTE plans and promos]

Currently, they are installing more than 54,000 kilometers of Fiber Optic Cable as part of their continuous network upgrade. In less than 2 weeks after the LTE launch, Smart fired up their multi-band frequency LTE service. This makes them the first multi-frequency service provider of mobile LTE in the country and one of the first in the world.

Let me explain a bit on what this means.

Mobile Broadband Test: Globe and Sun VS PLDT MyDSL Business Line

Just got my new mobile broadband subscription yesterday. It was a hard decision to make -- Several weeks of decision making before making my final decision to get the Globe Superstick. I've blog about the Globe Superstick before but at that time, I still wasn't ready to get another mobile broadband subscription.

I finally decided to subscribe when I tried out their Bridge Data Roaming Unlimited service when I went out of the country weeks ago. (Read about Unlimited Data Roaming from Globe here) I've yet to post a review about that service very soon.

Last Saturday, I submitted my Globe Superstick application and requirements to a Globe business center. Unfortunately, they didn't have the Globe Superstick plan 1299 on stock and told me to wait for their call. Impatient me, that night, I went to a 'lesser populated' mall to check out if they have a unit available. Unfortunately, it wasn't also available.

Which Mobile Broadband Plan from Globe is for you?

Before, life without a mobile phone was normal. Now, it's now. Guess what.. now, I can't even leave home without my mobile internet broadband! In fact, a research firm called Frost & Sullivan released a study that said that Mobile Broadband will dramatically increase here in the Philippines over the next 5 years!

I've been a Globe mobile broadband user ever since it came out 3 to 4 years back. I was subscribed to the 2,000-peso plan that provides unlimited data surfing. It was a very cool thing to have a 3g dongle in coffee shops before. Now, I can't believe how fast and cheap it is, at the same time!
