London Bridge / London Arch - Great Ocean Road Australia Attractions

Great Ocean Road in Victoria Australia is home to some of the most amazing natural landscapes. It's a place where you can experience God's creation. London Arch or London Bridge as some call it, is one of the many tourist attractions along the Great Ocean Road. This is also part of the Port Campbell National Park.

I'm sure you're familiar with the song/ nursery rhyme London Bridge is falling down.

London Bridge is falling down,
Falling down, falling down.
London Bridge is falling down,
My fair lady.
Well, the London Bridge didn't actually fall but this London Bridge in Port Campbell (Great Ocean Road), Victoria Australia did fall! The whole coast is eroding about 2cm/year.

The arch was known as London Bridge because of its similarity to its namesake.

This was formed by a gradual process of erosion and until 1990, it formed a complete double-span bridge. Unexpectedly, the arch closest to the shoreline collapsed in June of 1990 leaving 2 tourists trapped on the outer arch and were later rescued by a helicopter. Thank God that no one was injured during the collapse.

London Arch is a natural arch in the Port Campbell National Park, Australia.
Look at the waves below. No wonder part of the arch collapsed!
