Siam Lotus, Red Rooster & Gelateria Artigianale | Food Trip in Cairns, Australia

There isn't much activities to do within 1 to 2 hours here in Cairns other than shopping. Most of the activities here takes around 3 hours minimum to do. With that said, we indulge in one of the best ways to digest one's culture -- food!

After our liveaboard experience on the Great Barrier Reef, we were dropped off in our hotel to freshen up. It's hard to decide where to eat if you want to try out all the restaurants you see! For our last dinner in Cairns, we decided to try out a fast food chain we've been seeing since we were still in Melbourne -- Red Rooster!

Here's what we had from dinner to midnight meals:

Me, ordering food.
Real Bacon Burger Combo (w/ Fries and drinks) | $10.70 / Php 470

Red Rooster Take Away Bag

FRIEEEES!!!
Our Fries Combined w/ Ketchup Packets

Red Rooster Menu Board
Their burgers has real thick and juicy patties while the fries was also thick and crunchy. I had a hard time finishing the big burger even though it was good because I finished my drink first. I can't eat without drinking.
..and for dessert we got gelatos from Gelateria Artigianale. (Right outside Cairns Night Market)

Got this photo from Flickr. Weird that I can't find the source after grabbing.

Chocolate & Coffee Gelato

Gelateria Artigianale is also the same gelato shop where we saw a Red Bull gelato the other day.
(Speaking of Red Bull, congratulations to Sebastian Vettel claimed his fifth win of the season at the Monaco Grand Prix)

..and later that night, we ordered take-away Thai food from Siam Lotus! It was goooood. A nice way to end a day in Cairns. Although we didn't eat Aussie food for the last few meals in Cairns, we were glad we had the chance to try out different cuisines in Cairns!

I can't quite remember what we ordered that night. I just know we had Tom Yum soup, some veggies and stir fried noodles. Can't also remember the price. The only thing I remember was the feeling of contentment after drinking the hot soup and filled tummy.

Photos might not look appetizing but it was really good. (Photo below are from our take-away food in Siam Lotus, Cairns)

While eating our take-away Thai food, we also tried various drinks we bought from Woolworths...

Cookies n Cream Supa Shake!
Goulburn Valley Apple Blackcurrant Drink
Nudie Drinks
What a filling day! Great Barrier Reef.. check! Diving... check! Full tummies... check! Tomorrow, we'll be leaving Cairns for Darwin. Watch out for our not-so-adventure trip to Darwin!
