Flashback early 2000. Everyone was into texting to the point that telcos started to charge us per SMS sent. We were dubbed as the text messaging capital of the world. Forward a bit and everyone was into unlimited calls. It became the "landline" counterpart and our phones become sooo hot you can cook eggs with it in minutes (You might need a Moshi Moshi )! A year or 2 back, majority of the carriers provided wireless landline services. It's like "call all you can" for local landlines.

Smart Amazing Phone
When Blackberry came out with their BBM, everyone was hooked into it but honestly speaking, it isn't economical for a lot of people because you have to subscribe to a separate BBM service and it's another separate subscription if you want to surf the internet. Most phones can now do the messaging functions a Blackberry can do and some, even better. If before, SMS, calls and unlimited landline were the primary means of mobile communication, now, the internet will take over almost everything.

With the internet, you can e-mail, chat, video chat and communicate with friends through social networking sites, send files and photos in an instant! I now see my smart phone as an extension of my life. It's like a portal inside my pocket wherein the world is now within reach.

Speaking of, Smart just released their newest Internet phone -- The Smart Netphone.

There's a lot of internet phones out there but this Netphone from Smart is locally designed, specifically fit for the Filipino usage habit. The first Netphone will be the Netphone 701 which will retail at a low price of P9,990!

Smartnet also has Social Stream -- It's where you can link your Facebook and Twitter account so you can access and interact with your friends, for FREE. Yes, Free.

The Netphone has also a Smart Center App which let's you see your running balance in one swipe. It's a place where you can manage your Smart account -- subscribing to data packages, call and text offers and even see the date and time of expiry of your load! Now we're talking!
