My 2-day Utopian Switzerland Trip (Photos)

Lake Lucerne Cruise
I consider Switzerland as one of the best countries to go to when visiting Europe. My initial impression when people talk about Switzerland -- The snow-capped mountains, houses covered in snow, clear cool lakes and all the luxurious watches we can think of!

I will tell you now. I wasn't disappointed. Although because of time constraints, we weren't able to visit the snow-capped mountains, I got to see the rest of what I imagine Switzerland to be. We arrived in Switzerland   in the middle of a the week. It was a change of sight as the surroundings were peaceful and calm, unlike the busy chaotic life (with heavy traffic) we have here in Manila.

Lake Lucerne
Very peaceful, relaxing cruise
Clear waters

Swiss population of approximately 8 million people is concentrated mostly on the Plateau
Lucerne is the 7th largest city in Switzeland with a population of 77,491
Stanserhornbahn. Vintage cable car station.
First, you take a vintage cable car up to another station called "Kälti".
This vintage cable car has been chuggin up the mountain since 1893
Enjoying the views of lush green scenery
Must be great having a home overlooking the city!
Cable car crossing
Winding road up Mt. Stanserhorn
From the station Kälti, you now ride the world's first CabriO® cable car that bring you up to the peak.
You enter from the ground level...
Climb up the winding stairs to go to the second level..
It's like riding a convertible (top-down) car!
As you go higher, it gets foggier. Very very cold because of the winds.
There's a restaurant on top of the mountain.
Since we feel adventurous, we went up further
You can stay here if you don't want to go up. See the sign? "Lazy" relaxation area.
When you look back, you only see the foggy trail you left behind.
Stopped by the restaurant on top of the mountain for a quick lunch. It's called the Rondorama®
French Fries w/ Ketchup? €7.52 = Php 400.00!!!
Chinesische Nudelpfanne = Chinese noodles? €15.50 = Php 820.00!
That is some expensive fast food right there! Well, they have to deliver all the ingredients and food via cable car maybe? The middle area of this restaurant is revolving. We didn't get to seat there because it was full. We just opted to seat by the window and try enjoy the foggy view outside. Honestly, I was expecting spectacular views of the cities below Mt. Stanserhorn. Due to heavy fog, we weren't able to see what's below. Another reason to go back to Switzerland, perhaps?

Here's some info from the official site of the restaurant,
In 2001 the first revolving restaurant in central Switzerland opened on Mt Stanserhorn – the Rondorama®. Since Mt Stanserhorn is know as the five-star mountain, it was built in a star-shaped ground plan. It seats up to 200 people. Out of those, 80 people enjoy the view from the revolving platform. The panorama of the Alps revolves in 45 minutes around you. The construction of steal and wood allows a splendid view into the Alps.
This is a great rendition of how the Cabrio cable car looks like
On the way back, we just stayed in the first level of the CabriO®.
Check out more stunning views of the cities below!
Steep and swaying at times, it provided thrill for those afraid of heights

On board the old-school cable car again.
I wonder what are inside those white things? I never got to ask.
A Swiss house!
The Famous Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), a wooden bridge first erected in the 14th century.
It is even more stunning at night! I even made it my blog's cover photo! Switzerland is like Utopia. I can't seem to find things that are wrong. Like Swiss watches, the city seems like it is perfectly mechanized! Switzerland is where you can really inhale the fresh cool air and be inspired on how awesome God's creation is. No words and photos can do justice on how beautiful the actual Switzerland is, really. I regret having to stay only 2 days in this place. As I've mentioned in my previous blogs, this is one of the few countries I will surely aim to visit again.
